  1. The paid version is on the market. Intro price 4.99euros until 10th May. The developer is promising to fix the phone book issue in future updates.
  2. You can get at it two ways:- Through maxidot Via the setup button to the right of the radio
  3. Found a fly in the ointment I tried to update the car's contact list. It wiped all the contacts! The only way to get the contacts back was to put the sim in my old N95 and sync that up to the car.
  4. Looks like they're not ready with the full version ! Just got an update to the trial which expires 10/5/11. A tip for AutomateIt, set it to play an alert sound when the car disconnects = "don't leave the phone in the car"
  5. With my last phone, Nokia N95, I used to leave the bluetooth switched on. The battery was good for about 3 days and there's no faffing about with the phone when you get in the car. So, I'm trying to get it working the same way with the Hero. I'm leaving the bluetooth on and setting the AutomateIt rule to run rSap on connection. VillainRom appears to be better with the battery than the stock HTC with sense ui. Even with the bluetooth on I'm getting 3 days per charge. Speaking of charge, I wonder how much the full app will be when the trial expires ??
  6. Latest stock rom for HTC Hero is 2.1.1 and AutomateIt needs 2.2. Been needing an excuse to try a custom rom, so I've taken the plunge with froydVillain. ( Google "hero android 2.2") Straight forward to install, Clockworkmod rom manager is an excellent program. Then updated to latest stable release. reinstalled rsap and downloaded automateit. Connected to car, absolutely no problems at all, it just works. Set-up the trigger in AutomateIt to turn on rsap application when the car pairs to the phone. Again it just works. I'm now going to the android market to change my review of rsap to 5 stars. Thanks very much for the tip
  7. Looks like It works well for you. On my old HTC Hero rsap needs to be running and showing on screen to connect up. Bit of a pain, but better than nowt. Glad to be of assistance.
  8. Have a look at this app on android market. Search for Bluetooth SIM Access Profile from android-rsap.com. The app is still in development and is free at the moment. You need to have a rooted htc phone and follow all the instructions. INSTALLATION IS NOT FOR THE FAINT HEARTED! I've managed to get it going on my HTC Hero, it can be temperamental. Each new update improves the experience, sohere's hoping. My main problem on set-up was the phone demanding the 16 digit pin before the car displayed it. Not too hard to guess it. Just updated to 0.81, this is supposed to fix random disconnect problems. Not tried it yet. If you can root your phone and install a custom rom then you can have a go at this without worries. If not then don't go anywhere near it, you'll break your head and/or your phone. HTH Oswy
  9. I've just made the switch from 2.0tdi L&K mkii to 1.8tsi L&K dsg fl. Still on the first tank of petrol (just) so it's a bit early to measure the mpg. So far loving the performance even though I'm taking it steady. DSG box is a revelation.
  10. Thanks for that. Now programmed wife's key to open all doors with one click.
  11. I've got a set of skoda roof bars which I got the dealer to throw in when I bought the car. They come with a torque control device so you know that they're on right. I have a roof box (not a bike carrier). There's an increase in wind noise, especially when the box is empty. Fuel consumption is hit at high speed, keep it legal and it's not bad, 80+mph = very noticable in the wallet area. Both these things apply to other bars/boxes and cars. I would recommend going with the skoda kit, they work really well and they've been designed for the car from the start not a modular system made to fit. Hope this helps Oswy
  12. 2.0tdi L&K 3yrs and 4 months old. 61000 miles. Whining turbo replaced under warranty at just over two years old. New one on order, delivery this month hopefully.
  13. Failed the interview due to nerves!
  14. Just ordered 1.8t L&K dsg, paddles, TPM, BT,storm blue. I'm like a kid before Christmas, just can't wait. I've specified the grey leather even though it looks a bit light. The dealer has guessed at wk50 build, confirmation to follow.
  15. Company car bought from this dealer before DM Keith took it over. Some front of house staff left with old dealer, some stayed. I don't know about the mechanics. I've found them very friendly and helpful. Unless another maker comes up with something truly fantastic for Skoda money I will get another and I'll source it from here.
  16. Yes. Got a 2.0 TDI for the company car tax. Next one will be vRS petrol for fun. TDI can be a bit noisy at some speeds/surfaces. Just changed front boots to Michellin pilot premacy HP. We'll see if this changes anything. All in all the car is great, good standard equipment, nicely put together, my dealer is excellent, decent economy and real fun on the road. Well done SKODA you'll be seeing my ( company ) money again.
  17. Mine is a Sep '06 Model. Dealer replaced stalk last month after same problem. Told me that I had broken it, but did it for free under warranty
  18. Hello Everybody. I've had an Octavia L&K 2.0 TDI since last September. Had great fun on the twisty bits ever since. If only everything else in life delivered on promise like an Octavia does.
