Hi everyone. Hoping someone can help please. I’ve had my mk3 VRS petrol for 6 months and love it, however it’s developed an issue over the last free weeks that is driving me mad!
Recently, going over certain bumps at around 30mph it’s developed a rattle / clunk from underneath. It sounds just like a snapped spring with the pig tail jumping around in the strut. I’ve had 2 separate garages get the car on the ramps and everything is found to be perfect. It’s got everyone stumped. It makes no difference what side the car hits the bump and with the windows down you can hear it outside the car. It’s fine over “soft” bumps but above 20mph on grids and sharp bumps in the road you get this clatter from underneath. It sounds like something substantial and metal. Heat shields are solid, hell, we’ve even made sure the callipers are on tight!
Anyone got a clue please?
Thanks in advance 🙏🏻
