On the German forum someone posted some information regarding future sales of the Octavia in Germany. The will completely stop the sale of the hatchback on 22.02.23 and will greatly reduce the available variants for the estate. They will also adjust prices for vehicles and options. There is no official information about the reason. Most likely they try to reduce the backlog of vehicles before the production of the facelift in summer 2024 starts.

M13 seems to be the production line for all Octavia production, which is shared with Enyaq.

Some information extracted from the union newspaper: According to the newspaper, they produced 5748 cars on the M13 Line (4276 Octavia and 1472 Enyaq). They expect to keep up that speed in the coming week. They still have issues with battery production for PHEV an EV models. They also reduced production for DQ200 Transmissions. Those are used in 1.5 TSI vehicles. It seems like the situation is improving currently, but they still have some major issues. Also no word about the unfinished cars they produced since October.

I understand a PHEV is not for everyone, i wouldn't have ordered one if it wasn't a company car myself. My employer provides enough chargers for all PHEV company cars to charge at work everyday. It is cheaper in tax than my 1.6 TDI Golf and was heavily discounted by Skoda. There is no way i would have gone for a vRS otherwise. In that scenario a PHEV makes perfect sense. If i knew about the delivery times when ordering, i probably wouldn't have ordered an Octavia at all. The range clearly is an issue, but to be real: My 1.6 TDI is supposed to do nearly 70 MPG. I am pretty happy getting something better than 55 MPG, but my average is closer to 50MPG. Being "creative" about fuel consumption/range is not exactly new.

Strange, i wonder why a plug in hybrid electric vehicle doesn't work for you without access to viable charging infrastructure... 😉

We got bad news on our company cars. My company ordered 4 Octavia RS iV in October 21. Slightly different configurations, but similar Prices. All cars between 50k and 52k €. Initial Delivery Estimates were all May to June 22. Update in March: October 22 Update in October: All Cars moved to 2023. The earliest in week 5, the last in Week 25. German subsidies on PHEV Vehicles will run out end of 2022. Dealer told us Skoda/VAG will cover the missing subsidies in the event the government doesn't extend the program into 2023 for cars ordered in 21. In that case they basically lose 4000€ on each car. It is possible that cars affected by that get priority. Pretty sure we are talking about a lot of cars affected by this. Germany is Skodas biggest Market, the Octavia has been a very popular company car for years. PHEV get taxed half.

Wouldn't surprise me if there are no more iV models until the facelift is out, if they come back at all. You still can't order any new iVs in Germany from all VW brands, with the exception being Cupra. End of this year the state incentives on PHEVs in Germany will run out, making them far less interesting compared to EVs. They probably are better off building more EVs than "wasting" similar resources on PHEV vehicles.

A bit of PHEV specific news from Germany: Our current government decided to end all incentives (up to 6750€) for PHEV vehicles at the end of 2022. To get the incentives, the vehicle has to be registered in 2022. The date when it was ordered is not considered. I know for a fact that a lot of financing/leasing was and is including those Incentives as part of a down payment to reduce the overall cost of the cars. With the VAG/Skoda missing the delivery dates this year, they are running risk of mass cancellations of orders if they don't cover the difference on their own. I guess i wouldn't be surprised to see a change of allocations based on stuff like that. On the other hand they could go "F*** the Germans", get a bit of bad press, then blame it on the Government. Wouldn't be surprised to see that either.

Delivery times?
Hi everybody, long time follower of this thread here. I am currently waiting for my Octavia vRS iV, ordered early October 2021 in Germany. The car is part of a bigger order of 4 very similar cars my colleagues and i ordered. All vRS iV, bit different options and colours. Estimated delivery was 6 months, exactly with the end of lease on my Golf (Company car). I didn't expect that to work out, so it was no real surprise when the dealer pushed delivery to June/July in December. Since i an going from company car to company car from the same everything VAG dealer, i can just use the Golf as long as necessary. So not a huge issue for me, but waiting for a pretty tricked-out Octavia while driving manual 1.6 TDI with pretty basic options is kind of annoying. Yesterday i brought the Golf to the dealer for inspection and tire change. Of course i asked about delivery of the Octavia. The service manager was adamant the new car will arrive in late October. That would be close to 13 months, which is of course horrible, but considering what you can read here, not too bad. Still, i really don't buy that i will get the car this year. It is a big dealer, moving a lot of cars, but i'd be surprised if they have better info than everybody else. TL;DR: Octavia vRS iV, ordered Oct. 2021 in Germany. Delivery is scheduled late October/early November 2022.
