In the hot weather, it is sometimes pleasant to wind down the rear windows, but our Fabia estate is almost unbearably noisy with the air vibration at anything over about 20mph. Has anyone else found this and is there a simple fix such as air deflectors? Any advice gratefully received,

Thanks for that, I've just got round to having a look and am getting 12V between the solenoid and earth but having replaced the switch and solenoid, still no action .I will keep playing with it, thanks again.

Hi, my good lady had a problem with her Mk1 Octavia estate- when she went to fill up with diesel, the flap would not open. I replaced the solenoid/opener having checked for current at the plug, but it still wouldn't activate. On testing with a voltmeter, I found I was only getting 7 or 8 volts at the solenoid. I tried the switch on the dash and that also reads 7 volts supply, although the voltage across the fuse is 12V. I was wondering whether there is anything else I should look at between the fuse and switch. Any advice would be most gratefully received. Thanks! Mark

Good afternoon, thank you for letting me in, we are an agricultural couple from the New Forest with his and hers Skodas, a 2001 Octavia and a 2010 Fabia, both estates, and both in need of occasional minor tinkering. The forum looks to be an excellent resource for diy-ers like us. Cheers! Mark
