  1. Hi all, I am new to this forum and as a first step i would like to introduce myself. I am Tim, 29 years old and i live in the Netherlands. I work as a technical Salesman for a big Bus and Coach manufacturer. I have owned multiple vehicles before, varying from a VW Lupo 3L to a BMW 323ti and 330i. My previous car was 2019 Suzuki Swift Sport 1.4T which was a fun and efficient car, but I did miss some comfort and as the car was owned by my former employer I was not allowed to do any mods. I quite liked the fuel economy and the Japanese reliability, so I went on to look for a Lexus IS300h F-Sport or GS 450h F-Sport. I was really impressed by both cars, but the IS was small and had me feeling slightly disappointed by the driveline, the GS was great but it was a very big car in outside dimensions while the boot was quite small because of the non-reclining rear seats. Then I recalled a car that I had owned and I quite liked, which was a Skoda Octavia RS from 2004. I bought that car at the time because I could get a really good deal on it, it was traded in and had some little defects. The car was traded in with a water leak which flooded the (white) floor carpet, which made it stink a bit and made the carpet any color but white. I ended up fixing the leak (water entering the cabin via the hood release cable, caused by clogged drains under the windshield) and taking apart the interior to dry and clean everything. Managed to score a tidy OEM carpet and it was good to go again. Then I sold it because I already had a daily driver at the time, but I remembered the car because it was quite rare and very comfortable and spacious. I ended up looking into Octavia RS 220’s, which were fun but just a little less exciting than I expected. Then I stumbled upon a RS 230 model that was just put up for sale, went to take a look and I was pleasantly surprised. We made a good deal and now I am the proud owner of a 2015 Octavia RS 230 Estate. More information on the car and its story will follow in a separate project topic. I will try to dig up some pictures of my old mk1 vRS as well!
