What width / offset wheels are you running?

Thanks for this - I did try the search function but didn't pick this thread up - second post answers my question 👍 I am aware of the change to the car's handling dynamics that fitting this profile tyre will cause, and would never fit tyres that did not conform to the speed and loading requirements (as well as decent quality). The suggestion that a 195 profile might be insufficient though - 🤣 Found a cheap set of R15 alloys locally so will try to pick them up next week and report back on my experience - will try to brace myself for the hysterical laughter of other Fabia VRS drivers when they see my 'buttons'.

I'm sick of the crashy ride on the awful road surfaces we have to put up with in the UK nowadays, and after a couple of recent pinch flats caused by particularly bad potholes I was thinking of moving to a smaller diameter wheel to enjoy the benefits of a deeper sidewall. The spare is a 195/55R15 on a (J6/ET43) steel rim and that size tyre is obviously very close (0.4%) in circumference to the standard tyre (205/40R17), but just wondering if the clearance might be a bit tighter with an alloy rim - anyone running R15 alloys and if so any problems?
