Cat back sound
Hi guys, I fitted a hornet “race system” cat back exhaust, pretty impressed with build quality and was easy to fit once I managed to get the old exhaust off, what an amazing invention a grinder is!! it’s been exactly a week, the wife was really mad I’d got one and upset I’d fitted it, as it’s the family car(but also mine) and possibly the best car iv ever had. When first fitted I noticed the sound but a little shocked how quiet it was, kids and wife where teasing me.haha driving to today it made a distinct change in sound, heard turbo whoooosing were I didn’t in the few hundred miles iv done on it, but as I got used to it I now am shocked at the difference deeper and turbo spool, but it changes in 5mins of driving!! Worried something is broke cos of the split second change from a waste of money to the usual diesel with an exhaust sound, black and white change i heard of a bed-in period but is this actually true, it wasn’t on my other cars!! kind regards fisher

Fitting Cat back exhaust
Hi All, I have settled with a hornet exhaust race system, middle box resonator delete, and backbox delete, awaiting the order to be made as hornet on holiday. miltek would have seriously ended my marriage. I am unable to find a how-to guide or YouTube videos on how to fit, as i am a little nervous if this quickly turns into a big job. I have axel stands and ramps - reasonably mechanical but not something I have attempted before Could you advice step by step on how to change if you have experience I do believe there is a cut point near the rear axel to release the backbox, then maybe a joint at the middle box etc Any images or as much detail as possible would be really appreciated kind regards Fisher

Metal/embossed reg plates
Hi Guys, I have been toying with the idea of some decent plates for some time, the trouble is everyone has jumped on the bandwagon even non car enthusiasts. I have always liked the euro style metal plates, but some decent looking plastic ones have been made but the letters appear raised whichever style i choose, are these MOT legal? or is it a switch up job when it comes around, what are the laws re this, don't want to attract any unnecessary attention when driving around Kind regards Fisher

2 in 12 months!!
Hi guys, Had the Octavia VRS now about 12 months, love it, it’s a black, blackline estate, small subtle visual mods slowly being done. Added 15mm spacer all round and Briskoda Stickers last night, washed and polished. best car I have ever had and wanted one for many years. All my previous cars used to get a flash, hazards or something from fellow drivers, I have an older Skoda guy I see most days blue estate VRS, he and one other is the only one to give any form of love for the Skoda. Really shocks me, I understand they are a top spec model like some golf GTI owners buy them just because, but I really thought there would be a bigger fan base. I must look like a tool flashing or hazards and they drive past and it’s an old man or middle aged women with no idea how cool their car is. Shame really doesn’t matter mine still makes my heart skip a beat kind regards Fisher

towing function settings
Hi guys, mk2 Octavia, vrs estate. I am in the market to have a tow bar fitted and its more complex than i thought.haha i have got my head around it all, i am just interested as i have read a lot about manufacture fiited safety features especially hitch yaw electronic stability, braking adjustments etc my question is does the mk2 come with anything like this built into the ecu once a towbar is wired in, or is it the more modern mk3 onwards etc? i have looked at my sticker in the boot as per a previous post i found on here, it is not prewired for towbar from factory "1D0" kind regards Fisher

Another part number request please
hi buddy, i bought a new set of 4 from ebay, brand new, but without the metal rings it seems, i pinched the 3 from the ones i had but the reason i bought them was to replace a missing cap, was gutted when they arrived, if what you say is true, i may have to glue the last one in place kind regards fisher

Another Drivers Seat Position Post
CBix, I am so glad you wrote about this topic!! I have owned the Octavia mk2 vRS for around 2 months now, possibly the best car i have ever owned, but i too have the same issue, i am 6ft 5, and just cant find a nice driving position, who the hell writes these guides.haha if i set my feet and legs correct, my arms are at full reach all the time, or set my arms and my legs and feet feel like a chick squeezed into an egg. if i lift the seat as mentioned above by john, i cant see out the windscreen properly.haha i have although managed to find some sort of happy medium, and although not perfect or ideal, its a manual selection, so there will be a murder scene if anyone gets in and adjusts it!! i think being tall 6ft and over i feel its just something we experience daily doing the dishes, you have to practically bendover cash machines you may aswell kneel down trains and planes tables and chairs the list goes on and on and on but i wouldnt swap my height for anything, maybe just maybe i have Viking heritage(at least i like to tell myself) sorry to hijack your post:) kind regards Fisher
