With many thanks to all those very considerate and skilled Briskodians that have published excellent info on this forum I'm now confident enough to have a whirl at replacing the Drivers door window regulator on my year 2010 Octavia Mk II estate. Its occurred to me that while I've got much of the door inner structure pulled apart I maybe should also fit new inner and outer door window seals-velvets so that the window moves up and down smoothly and at the same time gets cleaned and cleared of rain water and internal condensation. The window inner seal is just a relatively plain horizontal strip (part number 1Z0 837 480A) however the window outer seal (part number 1Z0 837 432B) goes around the perimeter of the full window area in the door frame when looking from the outside of the car and includes the triangular moulding for the mounting of the driver's door wing mirror. The window outer seal is naturally the main seal that keeps water and wind out of the car. Can I please ask if anyone has replaced their driver's door inner & outer window seals and if so did you need to use new mounting clips (if there are any) or open out any metal retaining clamps/clips.....or use any glues of techniques to hold the sealing strips in place? I've unfortunately got no idea as to how difficult it is to replace the two window seals nor to how the seals are held in place. Thanks!!
