  1. Update, problem solved. The garage had a straw to clutch at but it didn't feel relevant. I passed on above suggestions and getting the ECU checked over first seemed the sensible thing to do. Updated software and reflashed to latest version. Came back previous MAP had a fault code removed for oil. The car should've been been showing a glow plug warning on the dash. 2 oil pressure switches replaced and the problem appears to have gone. Thanks everyone for the time and consideration For anyone else with a no fault code showing, perhaps get the ECU checked out, not cheap but at least you should find where you're starting point is if someone's messed around with it.
  2. Thanks for commenting, I'm the fifth owner, idk what previous owners have done. Skoda garage informed me its not possible to tell if my model has been mapped, you didn't mention that but I will show the mechanics this thread.
  3. I can confirm there is no indication of a fault on the display bar the cruise control symbol and an exclamation mark highlighting in orange. Thanks for the tip, I will suggest to the mechanics when it goes back in.
  4. Hi, the garage has technicians with VW and Skoda experience such they claim to maintain dealership level service and have google reviews to substantiate. I expect they have the necessary tech level equipment for full diagnostics. I can't recall the 4 letter acronym of the device they should have for full diagnostics, contains a G though I think? Aside from cruise control display turning orange with an exclamation mark highlighted there are no warning lights on the dash. Driving from Wales to the Midlands, many roundabouts with lights. Exiting those junctions onto the straight, accelerating hard out of them is often a limp mode trigger. The issue predominantly occurs during car's warm up phase, half a dozen times on average the car will need to be restarted. When engines hot sporadic limp mode occurs mainly when accelerating hard. Driving like I'm 70 years old defeats the point of owning an Octavia vRS. I can't believe I got rid of a MK2 with the same, no way near as bad, issue and the threads not to be full of people experiencing a similar issue, or just my rotten luck?
  5. Hello all. Another new member based off having a Skoda issue seeking knowledge as to what it could be please. 2015 Octavia vRS 2ltr TDI goes into limp mode mostly during warm up phase but also at other times. The garage have had the computer hooked up but no fault code generated. Any ideas as to what could be triggering. Restart clears limp mode. No clear pattern that triggers. Eternally grateful for your consideration.

  7. I haven't looked at. Appreciate you sharing knowledge. Mine hasn't worked properly for a good while now. Just last week however it worked ok for a brief couple of times. In fine weather. I'd hunched water had increased somewhere. Pooled and it was intermittent because of. I've had with it since the boot locking mechanism went crazy a year or so ago. I associated a small host of electrical issues at the same time. Occasional windows full action not working. Rear wiper also intermittent. Light out warning light on dash. Battery was replaced eventually, in my defence numerous tests by pros hadn't spotted it was smaller lion brand, replaced with one that fits perfect in casing and is better. The windows seem fine now. Rear wiper still intermittent as is reverse sensor. I bought a new boot locking mechanism which I didn't use! I guess the reverse sensor and all electrical faults need a circuit test to find the fault?
  8. I too have the loud bleep and flashing up image of the car exiting reverse function with gear stick. Damaged wire?
  9. Hey, it no longer does as supposed to. Anyone else come across a sitch where there's a loud elongated beep and it doesn't function except briefly as the stick shift is withdrawn from reverse the picture of the car briefly comes up on display and radio cuts out as if about to work. The elongated bleep is intermittent i.e. not every time tried to operate reverse gear sensors do you get one. Thoughts welcome. I'm driving a diesel 2.0tdi vrs hatch 58 plate.
  10. Another idea I've had is to run a strip of door insulation to bolster the seal?
  11. Finally an image that shows the path of water seeping in. I guess the trick to cut a slit in the seal to allow water to get out is the fix, be it, admittedly, not ideal, is the way to go before replacing the seal altogether. Whilst the chalk on seal technique highlighted perhaps an imperfect seal, it just seems odd the seal fills with water and seems to channel it in into the boot where run off is the natural path? Thanks for your consideration.
  12. He Mac11irl, Thanks for replying, it's a hatch. Tried the chalk and damp wipe. It didn't seem so great the seal. I will give it a hose and see what happens. I could try sticking a strip of door insulation 10mm wide 4-5mm depth I got along the boot door seal line. It could confirm the seal's the issue? Thanks again
  13. Hey all, I noticed the Bag of Bags kept in the boot was damp recently. Progressively got worse. The spare wheel was 2/3rds full of water over course of time 2-3months approx. Popped the seal to release. When I open boot, water seems to pool and go inwards at either edge of the flat line Along top of bumper by each corner light and the seal between with the little holes in it squirts out water when squished. For the amount of water that got in I thinks I should see a fairly obvious fault or ingress residue somewhere but can't see anything obvious. Any suggestions pleaseπŸ™πŸ»
