  1. I think you may have just hit the nail on the head. My car is quite low and I had to replace my sump a couple of months ago, and that is the exact time my power steering stopped working. I have a rest day from work tomorrow so I’ll get under it and have a look at the rack. Thank you
  2. So, I’ve got no further, battery light went off before I could double check codes to make sure I was right. Still be looking at everything and can’t work anything out apart from it saying reference voltage too low. Starting to give up hope of ever having power steering again at this point
  3. So, an update on my situation, got in my car to drive to work this morning and the battery light stayed on, plugged it in and it came up at alternator. Funnily enough the steering is now somehow lighter and isn’t as aggressive when it gets to the part that worked. It could be that voltage was too low all along, will keep you all updated
  4. Nope, no luck. Please let me know if you find your issue! May help me too lol
  5. Ah okay, just wanted to be sure. Thank you
  6. I just following on to this, I’ve found a code in the central electrics. 01598: Drive Battery Voltage Signal Too Low - Intermittent. I highly doubt this would affect the steering in any way but on the off chance, could this maybe be my issue?
  7. Had it checked today and they said more electrical as the rack seemed okay, might take it somewhere else and get a second opinion, thank you
  8. I don’t have the original module unfortunately. And has a tiny bit that works. The rest feels very heavy
  9. Unfortunately I don’t, didnt even think I may need it but here we are. Is it worth changing the coding to see if it helps?
  10. I’ve just had an after though. The new (second hand) pump is same codes and everything, but it came out of a polo. Would it need coding to lighten the steering maybe?
  11. Hi all, had my power steering go out and it was diagnosed as a faulty pump, changed the pump and now has a little bit at 9 o’clock left lock to about 6 o’clock. Sent it to a garage as I though it was the rack. Been advised that it’s either some wiring or a Central Electric Control Module issue. Anyone else faced a similar problem? Cheers
