  1. Although it had a full service, including timing belt, just before I bought it
  2. Hello, I'm a first time user of this forum. I bought a second hand Superb 2L Automatic Estate (59 plate) last September and was promptly admitted to hospital. The operation I had resulted in not being able to drive for several months. During that time I foolishly neglected even to start the engine periodically, so the car has just sat idle for 9 months. Put a mew battery in today and the car started first time, to my surprise. Not driven it as its not taxed or insured yet. However, after starting, when in 'P' or 'N' the engine speed wont go above 2,500 revs. even with my foot hard down. Is it likely that the car has gone into 'safe' mode, because of having a dead battery changed, or could there be another problem? Grateful for any advice & guidance. Thanks.
