Thanks Atlesz. The Kinergo kit is the one I have ordered. I have cleared everything out from around the mechatronic and have a fair bit of space. So going to see if I can remove the front cover and fit the kit with the mechatronic still bolted to the gearbox.

Have oil leaking from mechatronic and fault code P17BF, so looks like accumulator in mechatronic has failed. Been looking at various repair kits. Does anyone know if there is enough space to disassemble the mechatronic in situ, or will it require removal of transmission and/or the mechatronic? Thanks

Really surprised that the original owner had never had it sorted. Fingers crossed it keeps working.

An update. I did find some TVS diodes and fitted as per diagram. Been a week or so now, and all working perfectly. I used 1.5KE36CA. (£1.99 for 10 on Ebay) CA are bidirectional, which I knew I needed from the diagram in the TPS. 36 is the voltage. In the photograph of the Skoda part you can see that it is E33. Ended up with E36 as could not source the E33 in a reasonable quantity at the time. 1.5 means they will handle instantaneous power of 1500W. Did find E33 with lower power rating, but decided to go with higher power rating to be on the safe side. Thanks to all, especially Breezy_Pete for the excellent TPS information

Yes, Russian translator could be useful, but can't be that complicated. I did consider a later BCM, from a breaker, but thought a couple of diodes would probably be cheaper.....but who knows until I go to Skoda to buy them.

Hi We have recently bought a Fabia Combi Elegance 2011 and are having issues with the central locking. Symptoms and fault codes are exactly as in this post Does anyone have any information about TPI document no 2026500/2 from 2011-07-14 ? Or what exactly is included in repair kit 5J0 971 658? Thank you
