  1. briskoda to the rescue again! Cheers guys, I was hoping it was a fuse & was somewhat worried when the 20A wiper one was intact. A check here & sure enough F15 had gone - swapped it for 4 (light) whilst I get a replacement. The rear wiper going when you wash (pull) is a wierd one - I thought it might be wiring or the switch! PS I have got a fair propprtion of screen wash in but has been v. cold (-8?) PPS Is this a good buy? 30 mixed fuses £4 ~~30 PIECE CAR FUSE SET 7.5A/10A/15A/20A/25A/30A+TOOL~~ on eBay, also Other Security Electrical, Security Electrical, Car Accessories, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 31-Jan-09 22:33:24 GMT)
  2. and finally... The man from Skoda he say "yes". If it's pre 2006 AND it conforms to EN14214 & EN590 no problems. Generally 5% is all the engines are designed for. And he said he'd put it in writing - though my warranty runs out about now so I don't suppose that will be much use even if I have problems :(
  3. Hi, latest update... Morrisons (local store, central contact haven't got back to me yet) say it is "Horizon Fuels B30", is 30% bio (as you said), something about EN590 and guaranteed to meet EN14214 (which is what Skoda asked about). Skoda are checking against my reg to see if it'll be OK but the lady dealing with it is at lunch. 240 quid sounds a bit keen. If I do need to drain it hows about anyone with a diesel is welcome to whatever they can syphon out? Once it's full of normal gunk it should flush through? Dealer didn't talk about flushing anyway, just draining.
  4. yeah 1.4! I used to have a Felicia 1.3. How much did I put in? Lots, it was down to "20miles" in the tank & I filled it up. £50.30 at 129.9 / litre :(
  5. Maybe I should've said it's a 1.3 TDi fabia!
  6. I have a 54 Fabia. I did the same thing & then phoned the dealers. They said "No way!" don't even drive it in get the RAC to tow it in & they'd pump it out for £240 but wouldn't garantee it hadn't knackered the fuel pump!!! I phoned skoda UK who said check the spec of the bio & call them back. I'm waiting on Morrisons... Soothing advice would be appreciated!!
  7. My felicia always picked up FM OK but never got a thing on AM. I put this down to the aerial not being powered properly...
  8. I have 1.4 tdi classic (54 plate) The petrol, erm, filler cap states higher presures. For 165 70s it says: 2.3 / 2.1 unladden (f/r) 2.3 /3.0 (42psi!) laden Sounds high - don't think my tenpenny inflator will get that high :-( DaveF
  9. Thats pins 4 (brown & red) & 7 (blue & black) of iso conector A? DaveF (being a bit worried!)
  10. I had the grundig type cassette radio and in the setup you could select whether it went on and off with the ignition. Hold down expert or audio or something for a few seconds and in jumps into setup. All in the radio manual (if you have one!). DaveF
  11. Ta, I'll try again - with a stop watch:)
  12. on my cheapy radio cassette you can adjust the settings (hold tp) so that it stays on with / without ignition (I think it's IGN ON/OFF) or turn it off and on again after the ignition is off. DaveF
  13. Ta! The first setting of the the little lever is "no wipe"? That's what mine appears to be. DaveF
  14. Hi, I've just joined the forum having read various tips over the years - appologies if I'm posting in the wrong place! I've just bought a 53 Fabia Classic with various extras and sold my lovely Felicia having done 108K in it from new. How does the intermitent wipe work? On the first setting of the lever on top of the arm it seems to do nothing. On the Felicia it was push it up without clicking so it wipes once, when then the screen was wet again push it so it clicked into intermittent and it remembered that time interval and wipeed the same delay every time - brilliant, why doesn't my Fabia do the same? DaveF
  15. About 70K miles I started getting the engine stalling when coming out of overrun (ie when declutching after engine braking). Easy to bump it back but loss of PAS and brake servo was nasty. Garage quoted 200/300+VAT for a new throttle body which they weren't sure would fix it. Got them to fix a scrap throttle body (a few bolts could have done it myself) and all as good as new! DaveF
