  1. Can't comment on sales/service side of things. This garage was very helpful when it came to identifying a missing locking wheel nut key. Within 10 minutes of pulling up, the locking nuts were removed (was booked in to get new tyres at local garage when the issue arose) and replacement key ordered. Complete contrast to Coventry dealer who claimed the nuts would need drilling out and wanted about £100 all in.
  2. Blimey, I can't believe all the positive reviews for this lot on here, personally I am glad they closed down. Was never particularly impressed with them (to the extent I used the Rugby dealer instead), but then Cov really took the biscuit last summer when I contacted them for help identifying which locking wheel nut was fitted to my Fabia, as another garage had managed to lose the key. The bloke immediately sucks air through his teeth, and says the nuts will need to be drilled out at a cost of £70 plus the cost of a new locking wheel nut set. When I, somewhat stunned, enquired about the existence of a dealer master set for precisely this purpose he laughed at me and said thieves would have a field day if such a thing existed. Lying to$$er. Phoned the Dealer in Leamington, they said yeah fine, drove it round there, 10minutes later the locking wheel nuts were off the car (was trying to get new tyres fitted that day, hence the rush) and the required key identified and ordered. Couldn't have been more helpful, a complete contrast to the Cov lot.
  3. Selling my Fabia vRS as I have now got a company car. Registered July 2006 Silver 100,325 miles (mainly motorway) Standard vRS spec with the addition of Cruise Control Two Owners from new (myself included) Full documented service history (inc Cambelt), all done at dealer or VAG specialist Bodywork is in good condition, one very small stone chip dent on roof near the windscreen, then just some small stone chips on bonnet/bumper. 12 Month's MOT (24/7/2012) Tax expires end of July No Mods etc Rear discs and pads just been changed Never had any real problems with this car, no breakdowns or anything, just the typical Mk1 Fabia stuff - leaky rear door seal (fixed under warranty), and general wear and tear - console bushes replaced a few months back. Price is £4000 ono.
  4. Hi all, Just had my vRS in for a service, during which they replaced the front suspension bushes. During subsequent motorway driving I am noticing a fair bit more steering judder than I used to have. Should I be getting the alignment/tracking checked because of the work, or should I just be taking it back to the garage and complaining? Appreciate the thoughts.
  5. Almost certainly Hdd spinning back up after having powered itself down (especially if you are running Vista, it's quite aggressive in it's energy saving by default).
  6. Yup, happens all the time. Very noticeable with the cruise control on and p**s irritating If someone is really annoying me doing this, I let them get close - about to pull out to overtake, then drop into 5th and boot it - give them a nice cloud of black soot :haha:
  7. Yes, never been replaced. I do a lot of mileage so will always hit mileage limits way before age limits. I will likely hit 80000 towards the end of the year.
  8. Ok, has anyone had this done recently? I had been reading on here that the cambelt is due at 60k, I am ignoring age as I do a lot of miles, and the car is an 06 plate. However, when I recently booked mine in for its 60k service, THREE different Skoda dealers all stated that it is not due till 80k. So I ended up getting the 60k service done at one of the dealerships (no cambelt), but am still a bit concerned with this variation in what I am reading on here and what the dealers say. Have Skoda changed this recently or something?
  9. I caught the whole thing, and thought much the same as you. Fair enough the polish guy made a couple of mistakes (early on he nearly put in the foundations a good 2ft smaller than they were supposed to be), but the work looked to be a pretty good quality and he clearly took pride in his work, doing some extra bits and pieces (at his cost) to finish it off. The owners seemed to be being a bit harsh. The British guys work looked to be truly awful. The bit at the end where the house owner was querying why one of the roof joists was visible from the outside, rather than boxed in, and the guy said " Yeah it's like that for a reason, not a faulty reason........." then proceeds to stand there and completely fails to produce the "reason" was priceless. Though the editing can obviously make our view quite different to those involved.
  10. Saved data on your console is nothing to do with the Gamertag/gamerscore. So delete away!!
  11. It's the little slider that also turns cc off. Slide it to the left to resume the last speed you set, slide to the right to turn cc off. Hold it to the left to increase speed.
  12. I saw a video on the web with Vicki Butler Henderson from Fifth Gear doing some tests round a small lap in a front wheel drive car to prove that rear tyres have more of an impact. It was a bit of an eye opener for me, demonstrated the difference quite clearly. If I recall, the video was on one of the online tyre retail websites, saw it when I was looking for new tyres at the end of last year.
  13. Hi folks, Been lurking on this forum for ages, you lot helped me decide on a Furby Vrs last August and I have been enjoying it since:D, so thanks! I would like to fit a Cd changer to my standard Symphony HU, and have been given a second hand changer from an Audi TT which appears identical to the skoda unit with the exception of it's connector. I have got the Skoda changer fitting kit, inc the loom etc, but it has a rectangular connection, whereas the changer has a round one, pictures below. The changer part number I have is 8N8 035 111A. Can someone help point me in the direction of some sort of adapter, or replacement cable for the changer? TIA
