Front left door lock gets stuck
Good evening folks! I have an issue I really can't understand. A week and a half ago I changed the door lock mechanism on driver's door and rear right door (the latter has been a nightmare, it was deadlock with the mechanical lock in, I had to demolish it inside the door). The driver's lock had a minor issue: it worked using the key but didn't respond to the electronic lock. Found that the actuator was ko. Both locks were aftermarket in brand new conditions. So far, so good, everything runs ok, everything locks with the remote, used the car daily to go to work... ...until today: I went to work for the morning, came back home for the lunch break, closed the car, locked the doors as I do every day. When I tried to open them to return to work, nothing. All the locks make the usual noise, everything seems to work including the door pin, but the handle won't open the door. Tried with the key, with the remote, from the outside, from the inside, the driver's door won't open. All other doors were ok. This evening I managed to open the door: I removed the rear one, started removing the key cylinder and it got unstuck, I could open it with the external handle. I disassembled the door panel, checked the lock, cables, electrical connections, the only thing that seems to cause the issue is the key cylinder. Reassembled everything without the cylinder, everything works; if I put the cylinder, after a few tries it would get stuck. I disassembled it one last time (had to change the whole panel because of window cable broken), then reassembled everything paying extra care to every step, and now it seems to work: door locks and unlocks, and I can open it both from the inside and the outside. I know I haven't provided clear informations to solve the issue...though, I was hoping in some suggestions to what to check next time it happens, along with some speculations on the possible cause...

Heating/air conditioner issues
Sorry, I'm not familiar with those acronyms: what does RHD and LHD mean? I'm looking for spares by now, I have a local car demolisher but he doesn0t have any Fabia by now. Are those motors the same that are found on VW Polo?

Heating/air conditioner issues
Hi guys, sorry for the delay, had to take care of some stuff. Tested yesterday with my OBDII handset, got the following errors: - 01271 Positioning motor for temperature flap (V68) - 01596 Motor for outside/recirculated air flap (V154) I assume both motors have said goodbye, right? is it difficult to change them?

I was there this spring on vacation, very beautiful places, I agree! if you want to go further to the south, I'd suggest Tuscany, especially the area around Siena which is full of beautiful landscapes, historical buildings and towns and - last but not least - you can eat and drink like a prince 😁

Heating/air conditioner issues
Thaks for the replies! Tried today removing the cover plate and blowing it (with my mouth), then tried playing with the blower and A/C. For the first ten minutes it worked quite well: the blower had only a minimum and maximum setting, and the A/C started and worked regularly. After ten minutes playing, both the blower and A/C started giving only hot air, as if they were stuck at max temperature. I also noticed that, even with everything on off, hot air continues to come through the vents as I was driving... The external sensor seems ok, the temperature seems right. May it be the interior sensor?

Heating/air conditioner issues
Good evening everyone, I am experiencing some issues with my car's blower and/or air conditioner, which I suspect may be related. The car is a 2003 Fabia MK1 1.2 47 KW, engine code 6Y5. Yesterday I was driving for about 45 minutes with the AC on, set on about 24 degrees or so. Suddenly, it started blowing very hot air and didn't stop even if I stopped the AC. Same in the return trip, it started heating and won't stop. Until yesterday the AC has always worked fine. The engine temperature indicator was in its usual state, and so was the external temperature indicator on the dashboard. Today I started the blower (not AC) to remove some mist on the glass, temperature around 22-24 degrees, same behavior, only hot air. I turned off the blower and noticed another strange thing (or, at least, it sound strange to me): the vents continued to let air from the exterior, and the faster I drove the more air would enter - and it was very hot. Turning the air towards the feet or glass didn't change anything. After some reading online, I suspect it may be either a interior temperature sensor or flap motor (this should be the device that mixes hot and cold air before blowing it, am I right?) fault. Is there a way I can check without dismantling the whole dashboard? maybe sone tests I can run to determine where the problem may be? Thanks in advance! P.s. I need to try cleaning the vent before the interior temperature sensor, as I read on another topic...

Good day to everyone! My name is Daniele, I own a 19 years old Fabia MK1 Combi! She has been my very first car and is with me since 2015. I'm learning how to tinker with her, fixing problems on my own and building up some mechanical knowledge which is never enough. Hope I can learn lots of things here, and maybe share my little experience!
