Hey, I have purchased Skoda DX (VW MFD1) for my MK1 RS project. Everything works and I also have PIN to unlock the satnav unit, but from what I have read on different forums when the instrument cluster and satnav unit are "paired" the PIN is stored in the cluster and therefore can unlock satnav automaticaly when battery is reconected (now the satnav ask to input PIN manualy), I have found that power ISO connector was missing K-Bus and GALA pin (I have found them cut off behind the Climatronic panel), so it should be ok. Is there a metod to try code satnav PIN into instrument cluster or will it do automaticaly? Also other question, my SkodaDX is version B so first CAN version, is there something to gain if I run the cables for CAN (original RS steering wheel doesnt have any buttons and instrument cluster is 3DColorMFD swapped)?

Ah that explains a lot 😅 because I have seen some golf 4s and some oct mk1 with such feature but from what I checked they are all diesels and much more new 2005+ ...

Hey, I have fitted my MK1 RS a CC, run all the cables and done coding, car is still under maintenance and cannot be driven, I have seen that if you start the ignition (1st position) and turn on the CC the CC icon should light up on dashboard, coding is right I can see G parameter in Engine module - Components and I have also checked in Meas. block that the clutch and brake switch works and also all butons on CC/indicator stalk works (switch 0 to 1 when pressed), my question is before I will assemble everything back is to make sure that everything is done correctly (I dont want to disassembly all dashboard again) so .. is there a way to test it or am I missing something that the CC icon is not showing up?

Hey, I have recently found on local srapyard funcional MFD1 for my Octavia MK1 RS, I have PIN and everything works but it is the original Blaupunkt unit its made for FORD (it has the green backlight for the buttons that match the Skoda interior lights) but the boot logo is Ford and menu has blue colors, I have found a russian forum/diy site where they still have functional links to download NaviEdit where you can edit the update files and change the logo and thus change the menu color, the thing is I have tried all types that they had on that website (index A+B, C+D, C+D with DSP) and burned them on CDs ... none of them work because they are aparently only for VW MFD1 (says the CD is incompatible and it need FORD one) and my question is if anyone has ever tried something like this or someone that have some other update files for MFD1 that I can try. From the OE number 7M0 035 191 A should be A index but there is a sticker saying index L and from hidden menu I saw that SW used is from early 2000 so its probably never been updated and CD drive works because it had 2003 BENELUX maps inside and they loads up just fine. Any help would be appreciated.

Your PDC unit is most likely older 283B unit and you will need to get 475B od D and for those you also need to run aditional 2 wires for drive CAN from gateway if the car is not FL, Im not sure about MAXIDOT and MFSW since mine RCD330 needed CANBUS decoder ... It was only like 15€ so worth a try.
