  1. I actually managed to get it sorted with the gear i have... Apparently unplugging the car battery, removing the bolero, waiting half hour, installing new unit and reconnecting battery forces the amp to switch to powering on with the key instead of canbus commands. Weird as hell, but it worked!

  3. Hi guys, just wanted to reach out to people who have experience replacing the head unit in these cars to an aftermarket one... I had purchased a Pioneer DMH-A4450BT head unit and this kit https://stingeraustralia.com.au/product/swi-vw02/ . This was after returning $750 worth of cables another retailer had told me i'd needed. Vehicle was taken to a local car audio specialist and he told me to return all of that and buy this kit. He's now advised me due to the factory amp being cambus controlled for power and the apparently pretty decent brand 10 speaker setup, i'll need to replace it with another 2 grand worth of amp and parts. If it wasn't for the fact he refused to charge me at all and said he couldnt get a hold of the amp i'd need i'd have been suspicious of an upsell. I love this car and outside of the twindoor switches not working and an engine bank too lean warning which several mechanics have attempted to diagnose and then told me isnt a big deal, i haven't had a lot of issues, so i'll spend the $ on it if required. Just curious if theres an alternative to get it working. 2010 superb mk2 Bolero unit currently installed stock amp under the passenger seat (can get model # if useful)
