  1. Thanks guys, you are stars Yep, it is loose at the back but still secured tightly with the bolt (it has some little clip like hang on design crap at the back that seem to have slowly deteriorated). I will check out securing it instead of replacing it and see how that goes
  2. Sorry for double posting this here and in the stickied part numbers thread but does anyone have any idea what this part is called and part number. Mine has come loose and rattles like hell and its not just a case of tightening it back up by the looks of things. Its the plate on the bottom of the exhaust under my vrs 2003. https://picasaweb.google.com/101432564418747310796/Skoda#5648476137805746626
  3. Not even sure what this is called let alone the part number. Its the plate on the bottom of the exhaust under my vrs 2003. Any ideas? https://picasaweb.google.com/101432564418747310796/Skoda#5648476137805746626
  4. Thanks delcac. I went down the skoda garage and asked and it was gonna take a while to get a new one so I just drilled out the old screw and put a new one in myself in the end.
  5. Hi, I just started testing to see which ignition coil was gone on my octavia vrs and found the screw and nut on top of this little frame had snapped clean off. Anyone know what its called or part number for ordering a new one? Thanks from Sweden
  6. Has anyone tried the replacement kits from VW Teeside? (these ones) . I have an Octavia rs from 03 with this same damn problem and am well against forking out for new ones off skoda! Would like to know this fits before ordering it though??? Thanks
  7. Thanks for the help, I figured it out after looking at the wiring diagram in haynes and grabbing a multi meter. It was the fuse to the switched live that had gone. I hadnt realised there was 3 fuses related to the stereo!!
  8. Whats the switched live and how can i fix it . I checked the live crossover and thats in order already. Thx for the help, have to go and borrow a multi meter tomorrow before I know, but would be good if I know how to fix it.
  9. Hi everyone, I have an issue with fitting a stereo which is really baffling me  I had a crappy stereo in (not the original) which worked but decided to get a new one off a friend. It works fine in his golf and the first time I hooked it up in my octavia vrs it worked perfectly as well. I tried putting it in to the hole and the cables were all being a pain in the bum so I took it back out and tried to sort the cables out a bit. Thought I would check it again and the stereo comes on but wont actually turn the face plate around. Try it in my friends golf and it works fine, try my old stereo in my motor and that wont start at all now. So, seems that the stereo is getting power but not enough to power it!! But it did work?? Checked ALL the fuses and not one is gone so Im thinking there is something else between the fuse box and the stereo that has blown. ANyone got any ideas?? Sorry for the long post Thx
