  1. Ah, yes please…I’m a total noob and can’t find anywhere to remove an image…I think there’s a couple of photos with the vin number if you can take those down please 🙏 thank you
  2. Thank you again for your advice… I think that seems reasonable and appropriate. They’re still backpedaling, trying to claim the 23R6 wasn’t done, in spite of my official documentation to the contrary, and also that there’s no way they would have mentioned FSH on their “irretrievable” advert copy, in spite of my accurate recall so far, and their woeful history of errors and misinformation…it’s like dealing with Liz Truss & co
  3. Well, I’ve just had a very apologetic call from the general manager. Funnily enough, after contacting the site that runs their adverts, they have been able to identify that a mistake had been made in the listing, although they are unable to recreate a printout. Funny that! 🤔 I’ve also told them they are breaking distance selling laws by not providing particulars presale for the customer to retain and rely on post sale….I bought the car unseen, apart from what they put in the ad and told me on the phone. So, I have been offered the option of returning the vehicle, but I do like it, so I have suggested they compensate me up to the spec difference for starters. also learnt that there is no one in the team ( not sure if that’s just sales or service/admin as well) who has been there longer than about 6 months…clearly a history of in-house problems there. I’ve told them I’ll be back in touch when I have worked out what I am missing. I doubt this will result in a new satnav device, so won’t be needing the se card, but thank you for the offer ejstubbs. Feels like a) I’m winning and b) I’m not going gaga as I had indeed remembered correctly what they had advertised. Lastly, I’m just as certain the ad said Full Skoda Service History…yet there’s no record of anything being done other than a first service after exactly two years at 19700 miles in Sept 2017 to 48500 miles in July 2022. I’m imagining I would not be unreasonable in suggesting that that does not comprise a FSH? Thoughts anyone? Thank you for all your assistance and guidance…I’ll stay in touch with the site and will be happy to offer forensically derived advice or consumer rights type of text for other similar matters, so please ask. Disclaimer…I am not a legal, mechanical or consumer rights expert, however I do write decent poetry and am proficient at pouring alcoholic, soft, and hot drinks and preparing hot foodstuffs (as long as they begin with P… “would you like pasty or a pizza, sir?”) at my workplace by beside the River Torridge in North Devon
  4. Thank you. Yup, they have just sent me my copy of the signed sales paperwork, which was strangely absent from my sales pack. This does not mention Business, but I am in no doubt that they advertised it as such on their site, and on affiliate sites ( I at least have this saved) and continued to let me believe I was buying a car with satnav in our discussions. They are claiming that the only info they have on their own sales advertising is removed and irretrievably deleted at the point of sale, and that there is no hard copy. I’ve suggested they think very hard where this evidence may still remain, as in the absence of that, my saved Autotrader file ( thank god) would be the only evidence they could rely on in regards to their presale descriptions. And I also have paperwork from a different dealer describing it as a Yeti Outdoor 2.0 TDi CR SE Bus As it’s definitely a car, and not a large public service vehicle, I think it reasonably fair to expect they mean Business. And so do I!
  5. Found this in relation to 23R6 / EA189 upgrades…. The Skoda Trustbuilding Measure https://www.skoda-auto.com/other/ea189-tbm
  6. Ah yeah, I’ve seen the thread and the code label , which seems suspiciously scrubbed out considering the immaculate condition of the boot space. Will try to get to the bottom of the 23R6 issue and report back…just gonna call the dealer…wish me luck!
  7. Here’s some photos…I didn’t see the post about the aerial, but the stereo model number is a Bolero, and I don’t think I have that aerial.Reckon I’ve been up sold a pup. I worked in IT sales from 1996 to 2004 (so through the major Windows / associated applications/hardware/cabling Upgrades and Y2K Moneygoround) so I know the pitfalls of a poorly informed/dishonest sales person taking advantage of an unwary or trusting buyer. I can confidently claim, and support with a lack of credit notes or complaints over this period) that it was also “one of the few”. I accept mistakes can be made, but the salesman and the business is responsible for accurately identifying, describing and advertising their product, and is responsible to resolve these “errors”. I would be amazed if anyone has ever advertised an elegance model as an S or SE. On top of this, I don’t expect to be insulted with BS, complacency or ignorance when an obviously identifiable problem is reported. So I will remain resolutely unforgiving until they provide me what I paid for, or compensate me for what is missing. I’m waiting…waiting…waiting…for the dealer to send me their original advert and a proper copy of sale agreement…they don’t reply to any email unless you chase them on the phone, when they are always “just about to call”, so I’ll have to ring them. Believe it or not, I am an extremely reasonable and forgiving person until I receive extremely unreasonable responses or products/services. I even sent through an unsolicited glowing testimonial email and a 5 start solicited survey 48 hours after I collected the car…I should have judged my experience after a few weeks with the car, rather than the bedside manner of the salesman as he took my payment. Lesson learned, but not yet over….
  8. Thanks EJStubbs… the Business variant definitely seems to be a kosher, although short lived option. There’s no ambiguity in the dealer’s description either…I saw that thread which set alarm bells ringing, but mine is Black and Business and Black are well separated in the model title. This also confirms that the dealer and network does know that a Business Outdoor variant was available if only for a short period, so should be familiar with what this variant included.
  9. Thanks for all the responses…what a great community, reassures me that I’ve done well to buy a Skoda at least 🙏 I’ll get back once I’ve checked the car again, taken a couple of photos and run through the responses. The car definitely has DAB Radio and reversing sensors that display on screen, but SatNav and mobile phone connectivity (beyond call controls) isn’t available. The car was described as SKODA BLACK Yeti Outdoor 2015 (65 reg) 2.0 TDI CR SE BUSINESS 5DR It’s a 65 Reg, registered end September 2015. I’ve accidentally mistyped 2016 on my profile, and can’t seem to find a way to rectify it. So, according to them, I’ve bought a Business model, which appears to have been designed for fleet/business drivers from late 2014…I’ve found several mentions, but the brochures seem to refer to the european equivalent , which I’ve seen named somewhere on here but can’t find it now 🤷‍♂️ https://shortfall.co.uk/blog/post/skoda-se-business-trim-launched/1255 regardless of what I have actually bought, it seems pretty clear that the business variant has Amundsen stereo and Satnav, making the need to acquire or purchase Skoda connect/ smartlink etc a moot point, if I am in fact in possession of a business variant. And if I’m not, or if I am and my car is lacking that spec, I will seek appropriate redress with the dealer. The dealer should be the expert in their own cars and what functions they have, not me…I’m a total numpty with anything car related, but I do have a forensic gift for sniffing out, researching and challenging BS when I need to🕵🏾‍♀️ heading off to the car to check out some more and take photos
  10. Thank you cheezemonkhai, Urrell and roottoot 🙏🙏🙏 The service “record” that was provided, which I had to request, is attached…simply one line entries with a with first service at 20000 when two years old, then all the “services” that ,Ishtar have been done at the end of July this year, which I assume is when this dealer acquired the vehicle. I’ve set up a MyŠKODA account but that doesn’t show anything. So I have no detail from the services, other than the headline services, A bit like having a CV that says 1972 I went to school 1984 I passed some o levels 1984 I worked in a factory 1990 I went to college 1995 I got a business degree 1996 I started a job in IT etc… hardly reassuring! I’ll have to try to find out if brake fluid, Halex etc has ever been done As for the memory card, I’ll have a look, but I think there’s only one slot, which suggests it’s not the Amundsen Satnav stereo kit, but the Bolero, even though Satnav should be standard on a 2015 Business Spec Skoda. I’ve only just bought the car, at over the Parker’s guide price for the model, for the peace of mind of buying from a main Skoda network dealer, so there’s no way I’m paying out for anything that should have come with the car as described. I’ve asked them to send me a copy of their original advert so I can compare it with the Autotrader one I downloaded. I know this won’t change the model I am driving but it should at least either support or contradict what they’re climbing, and what I have in my download. I do have a 1000 mile / 30 Day Return option, but, overall, I do like the car and don’t want to go through the aggro of finding another, so I’m going to pursue rectification measures with the dealer. My biggest concern remains the adblue error/ NOx upgrade. I’ll probably have to have it checked independently as I live 200 miles from the dealer, and my trust in them is gone even if I did live nearby. Thank you for your advice and guidance…regarding the paintwork, ordinarily I would have accepted there will be some damage after 7 years, but given that there are so many issues with the checklist, and the fact that these scratches and surface chips miraculously appeared after a few heavy showers, I’m inclined to add it to my snag list. Or am I being unreasonable? I don’t expect perfection, but I do expect honesty and an acceptable level of service and attention to the detail they profess to in their Approved Skoda spiel. I’ll provide an update when I have something more conclusive. Cheers Mike
  11. Thank you…Yes, it’s confusing…the car is a 65 plate, registered Sept 2015, and was advertised as the Outdoor CR SE Business option. It’s a 2L TDi 110bhp. Also claims to be OLEZ compliant, so not sure why someone has done this work. Screenshot of the autotrader ad attached, regrettably I didn’t download the original dealer ad and spec. And thank you for the info on toolkit…it may only be a small thing, but glaringly obviously missing, which just adds further weight to my suspicion the “check”list is actually more of a “tick”list
  12. Ah thank you…I have probably misunderstood the work they did in 2017…seems to have been some kind of mod to meet EC Emissions regs…I’ve attached the paperwork…could this be related to the equipment that may now be registering an Adblue DEF Error?
  13. Hi. New to the forum and just bought the above model 2 weeks ago from a Skoda approved network dealer. Seems like a nice car, but some issues with their checklist diligence, “FSH” , stereo connectivity and satnav for stereo/ screen, and an adblue error, Hoping someone might be able to help/advise, as after a few contradictory calls and conversations with the dealer, I have no faith in their responses any longer. Adblue Error DEF 650 Miles This popped on screen after about 100 miles…I can’t see inside the tank and the MFD doesn’t show it either. I pressed the revert button and the message disappeared. Dealer has acknowledged that whilst the service tech had ticked the checklist to say adblue was checked and topped up, this was not actually done. Big red flag. They have reluctantly agreed to reimburse me, but my bigger worry is twofold Firstly, I asked specifically prior to purchase if the car had had its diesel gate recall mods done, as I understood these have implications for reliability of sensors and fuel economy. He confirmed this had not been done, yet when I received the service info I see this was done in 2017. From what I have read, these sensors last about 5 years and are more susceptible to failure if the car only drives short journeys ( I’ve realised it only did 3k a year for last three years). So I’m really concerned the sensor has gone. Secondly, I have read that the Adblue DEF error may indicate a faulty sensor, which would cost 400+ to replace. I would have expected this to be picked up and rectified by their full major service and ODIS checks … except the ODIS check was crossed, not ticked, on the checklist, one of many such omissions. Any thoughts on my perception of either of the above? Other than the post sale indifference and BS I’ve had to endure from the dealer, and the missing checks, my other main issue is Connectivity and SATNAV I don’t seem able to connect to my phone, other than Bluetooth call options, without the Smartlink Activation code. The screen suggests I acquire this from the dealer, but they say I have to pay over £100…”out of their control, it’s a Skoda issue”. I’m pretty certain the original ad (which was immediately removed when I paid my deposit) listed SATNAV and absolutely certain that the salesman offered to show me how it worked when I collected, I regret now I was a bit rushed so declined. I saw that the SATNAV doesn’t work without an original SD Card, an none was in the car, in spite of the checklist ticking this. They are now saying the car doesn’t have SATNAV or an Amundsen stereo and that they never claimed it did. Yet when I checked the forum, it appears that all Business models have satnav https://www.autoexpress.co.uk/skoda/octavia/86565/skoda-se-business-range-launched So I’m perplexed…unless my model isn’t a Business model ”Full” Service History…looking at the attached history, I can’t see how it’s a FSH if there’s a five year 30000 mile gap from when it was two years old to when it was last serviced. Paintwork and toolkit…Lastly, the car was gleaming, sparkling and shining on collection, yet after two weeks there are a large amount of pre existing scratches and marks in the paintwork…could they have administered some kind of smoke and mirrors magic was to hide these on collection? And there appear to be missing pieces in the toolkit holder…or are these model specific. Anyway, sorry for the long post…I’ve attached the checklist and “FULL SERVICE HISTORY”. Also a picture of the “ complete toolkit” which appears to have missing parts. In spite of these issues, which I intend to resolve, I do absolutely love the car, just questioning why I have been charged an approved Skoda peace of mind premium when they seem to have barely paid lip service to the approved network guarantees. Thank you for any advice 🙏🙏🙏
