  1. it'll be getting left in at some stage to get it repaired, but was hoping I could go armed with a bit of info in case I get fleeced... 162000 miles and the clutch hasn't been changed in the 6 years I've had it (108000 miles when I bought it) cheers
  2. have also been told that the 1.9Tdi is suitable for a flywheel conversion from dual mass to solid which might make it a bit cheaper
  3. my '08 1.9Tdi had a rattle in the flywheel which was getting progressively noisier until one morning it wouldn't start at all.. engine not turning over, but a smell like the starter was burning.. not sure what the problem is but really hoping it isn't going to cost an arm and a leg to fix.. any advice/suggestions would be greatly appreciated
  4. hi all, having an issue with my 08 Octavia estate tailgate.. once opened and lifted it wont stay open.. thinking the struts need changed.. anyone had this issue before? many thanks Robin
  5. yes, everything is normal until the engine cuts out literally about 5 seconds after its started.. I've seen a couple of comments on other threads suggesting it could be the immobiliser
  6. hi, hoping for a bit of advice/help. My '08 Octavia 1.9tdi will start but then cuts out almost immediately. Glow plug warning light (yellow) starts flashing as does the car & key symbol. At a loss as to what has happened as the car started and drove perfect a few days before (been parked in driveway for 4 days).
