  1. Thanks for the replys To be clear when i say accelerate from low revs i dont mean putting my foot down and trying to speed from a high gear, this noise is being heard from setting off and when changing from 1st to second at 1500rpms and accelerate in second the noise is readily apparent, unless i change gear at 2000rpm or above to take into consideration the rev drop when changing gear i dont think this is mearly driver error. I have booked it back into the garage for a check over so will see if anything crops up cheers
  2. Hey everyone, been reading over the forums now for a while and thought i would join up and see if i could get my issue fixed with my car Its a vrs 05 plate on 68k miles, for the last 3k miles when ever i pull away and drive in any gear at very low rpms e.g 1000-1400rpm i get a grinding/rattling noise coming from the car, from where i could tell the noise was the gearbox direction. Anyway after checking on here and getting advise from my mechanic friend he advised it sounded like the flywheel was at fault, i took it to a local garage and got the dual mass flywheel replaced along with a new clutch at the same time, the mechanic said it was the flywheel causing the noise and the part was faulty as there was 2 much play in the flywheel when he took it out. So i got the car back and it drives alot smoother and also much quieter without the noisey flywheel clattering away however there is still a faint noise there! dont get me wrong its no where near as bad as before but if i let the revs drop to 1100-1300rpm and accelerate there is still a grinding rattling noise, its more apparent when pulling away from a standstill and the clutch is bitting as this is at low rpms. I dont know if im just being paranoid and this is engine noise but im sure it never used to sound like this when i first got the car Anyone got any ideas what it could be, the flywheel as well as the clutch and release bearing have been changed as well as the master cylinder if thats anyhelp, i thought it was maybe a heat shield or something but then it always at the same rpm no matter what gear
