  1. Interesting. How did you disable the folding function? I never use it and getting new mirrors and paint is not no1 for me as its mostly tight mirror but sometimes also the left. Disable the folding is what I would like to do. Regards. /M
  2. Hi. Sometimes when I turn my key the right wing mirror are folding forward. I have to put it back using my hand. The click is on different places all the time. Is there a way to fix this or just turn the folding function off? I dont need it more than I can do with my hands. Regards.
  3. Hi. Yes. I thought it was the hardy disc and it was really bad but it was not the problem. Then i changed the sparkplugs and the spark module and it did not fix the problems. I did a compression test and there was no compression at all on cylinder 3. Maybe it was carbon om the rings so I did a WD40 clean but no luck. After a lot of searching I had to decide how to take next step. Change the engine or repair. Found a shop far from here that specialized on this engines and right now my engine is taken out to be shipped 1000km to the repair shop for repair and it seems to be cheaper than putting in a used engine. They think its a stuck valve. Everything has to be ripped out. Now chain, now pensioner, totally cleaned engine, now upgraded rings, balance axles, bearings etc. Not cheap but... Trash this one and get a new used car and have to fix a lot on that car... Hm... Its only 150000 km. Should last a bit if totally fixed. Lets see. Time will tell. My problem is the TSI engine and the weak points in EA888 engine.
  4. Tryed it today to find out what is is and now I got missfire on cyl 3. Had missfire on cyl 1 last year and got a new spark module. Maybe it will fix the vibrations. It missfires on low rpm and driving uphill on 4-6 gear and accelerating. Now I have something to try. Remember the vibrations from limp mode last year but did not have any faultcodes this time before now.
  5. Inspected and looked fine. Not changed.
  6. Hi. I have a scout 1.8 tsi (150000 km) and it suddenly started to vibrate a lot when driving up hills and accelerate. Not from the steering wheel. Changed the back hardydisc as it was really bad. Did not help, the vibrations are still there. Most on higher gears when and as soon as I release gas or engage the clutch its gone. Running it on no gear does not vibrate. No faultcodes, no missfore and no extra oil consumption from engine. It runs fine. All wheels are new and all bushings feels good. The deriveshafts feels good. What can it be? TIA /M
  7. Seems like I got the mirrors working. This morning they stopped at ther right place. Lets se if its just a good day or will keep working.
  8. Hi. I just bought a second hand Skoda Octavia Scout 1.8 TSI -2011 with only 11400 km. I have some quetsions for you. 1: Sometimes when I start my car and have not folded the mirrors the mirrors folds forward. Have to go around and put them back manualy and then there is no "click" at the right position. When I fold the mirrors using the remote or the button inside they folds back but the same things happens when starting the car. What is wrong? Something I can do? And maybe just disconnect the folding some way? I can live without it but not the hjeatingsystem in the mirrors as I live where we has real winter. 🙂 2: The engine burns some oil. It runns fine and smooth but I need to refill more than specifyed in the book. I heard about the WD-40 cleaning method and some engine-flush and also running it on 10w40 instead of 5w40 and have some shorter intervalls to oil change. Any Ideas? Anyone who had done something like a wd-40 cleaning of the pistons? In tests I have read that it will get much better compression and lower oilconsumption. Regards. /M
