ok, here's a couple of pics: here is where it leads . . . after that, heaven know where it goes - i could replace the cable up to this point but it depends if that will make a difference.

there is no cage with the plug adapter - it more than likely was removed by a previous owner - so the plug harness kinda hangs loose. It has the speakers plugged into one half, with one power cable connected on the other half and the rest of the leads capped off. the new stereo comes with a plug adaptor that fits fine - though whether ecah cable plugs to the right cable on the vehicle adaptor i cannot tell. i traced the only cable connected under the glove box and that has been crimped. I was thinking of replacing the cable to this point but it all looked fine. re: the fuse. I wasn't i was checking the right one so I picked up a few spares and changed every single one but it still made no difference. (it's worth noting every bit of electrics in my Scud works fine) i'm starting to think now - it's likely the previous stereo was wired in a bit shoddy, i've driven the wattage a bit too much, and i may have to get someone to sort it out. Has anyone an idea what sort of costs i'd be looking at sorting the wiring for the streo?

Hi Scud lovers, Recently the factory radio in my 97 Scud Felicia packed in - one day i got in the car and it would not power up anymore. I been playing my tapes extremely loud recently and figured I must have blown the fuse or the radio even. I couldnt see any fuses that needed replacing, and I figured it must be fuse 22 (the last one) for the radio so I swapped with the spare anyway but still had no joy. According to the manual, this fuse is for other stuff too that works, though the cigarette lighter packed in ages ago. Anyway, I figured maybe I had blown the radio and thought that's a good excuse to go out and buy a new one, which is what I did today, but I not been able to get any power working on that either. The new kenwood radio is supposed to be a simple plug & replace but I aint convinced the wiring is correct in my Scud. The existing radio had been connected with a single electrical block that connects into the wiring harness but it dont seem to match up. But regardless of that, i'm not sure it would work anyway seeing as the old radio still doesnt work on a connection it once did. So i'm thinking, is this more than just the fuse or the radio, could I have burnt out the wiring? What i'm trying to work out is do I need to look under my nose at something i'm missing or do i get someone to look at my electrics and wiring, and will it cost me badly? If anyone can help, much appreciated - it's unbearable sitting in traffic with no tunes!
