Hi everyone.
Ive got a skoda octavia 2 with the CAYC diesel engine.
A few months ago the car started to display a warning in the dash board related to overheating. After connecting VCDS the fault was an open circuit in the secondary pump which is electric.
I have replaced the pump (aftermarket HEPU brand) but not before checking the wiring and connector which were fine.
Unfortunatelly it seems the problem still persists. Since im pretty sure the wiring is allright i went to the dealer in my area and asked for the price of this pump and they asked me if the previous pump was a pierburg or a buehler brand. I asked if they couldnt confirm which one is appropriate with the VIN number and they said no.
So im asking you 2 questions:
1. Do you know if there is a diference (it must have to be some) within this 2 brands , i mean internal resistance of the pump motor wiring or something causing the engine ecu to detect an open circuit?
2. Can someone here tell me based on the VIN number which is the appropriat pump for my car. It can be dealer incompetence only. THe VIN is: TMBGT61Z8C2114035
Thanks in advance.
