I cant find my msgs from the facebook seller i bought it off so cant check what he said he had it on, but know it was def a SEAT 2.0 tdi 184hp dsg so maybe a Leon? he also checked the engine was also a cuna/cupa engine for me. So I was probably wrong in thinking it was a cupra. I will check, but it came with original box and paperwork, and I thought i saw on the box "for VW golf mk7, Seat something or other and skoda octavia vrs poss an audi too" but i might be mistaken. Have to say that I am not suggesting re this thread that I think DTUK are to blame or are no good. But just simply keen to find out how other OCTY VRS owners went on with them? Im wondering if its worth ordering a new boost sensor as ive heard the mk3 had probs with these. But preety sure a poor performing or bad boost sensor would not cause a low fuel rail fault code

So allegedly/apparently the sane engine, and wiring loom is correct for my Octy vrs. Anyway, tried several programs on this box with mixed results, from it intermitantly bogging down and being flat/ laggy. or other times seeming to make the car feel faster? But inconsistantly, and more worryingly intermitantly buggering the car up all together. Has happened several times now, that whilst running different programs on this box, it has then thrown the car into limp mode as described above. so as of today Ive taken it off and gone back to standard. Just wondering if any other octy or vrs octy drivers have had similar problems?

I think i might hold off from doing that, after recent experience with this box. I dont know if anyone else on here who owns a DTUK tuning box (the trevor one) or used to. But with it on my VRS it ends up throwing the coil light on and when I check the car with my scanner it comes up with a low presure fault on the fuel rail??? Which i thought was a bit confusing, as I thought the box is suppose to add more fuel and boost hence more power. Instead I get the coil symbol and limp mode. Took it off for now, as seems to be .........

Seat leon cuna engined DTUK box doesnt fit my mk 3 octy VRS? why?
As title basically, as far as i was aware its from a dsg leon of about same age according to the seller. However, the loom the the fuel rail only has 2 pins, where as if you try to fit to mine the plugs on the rail have 3 pins?🤔 What gives? Also just out of intrest and to confuse matters further, i also have in the garage a Blue spark tuning box from when i had a company car, it was a mk 3 octy 1.6 dsg, and again when i dug this out, it only has 2 pins.? Anyone else got the DTUK tuning box and can confirm loom has 3 pins? p.s. Wondering if one of these 3 pins is just a ground or doesnt do anything, but think thats unlikely

Previous forums Ive been on , had How to guides, done by various members when they were doing jobs to help others usually with a load of pics. Is there non of that on here? Used to also get guides on how to tune/mod/detail etc. On a side note, any Diesel VRS owners running with the DTUK box? any good or not?

thanks for the replys, had vcds lead and basic software, but was from Bay of E. I gave that away with an audi I sold, bit silly in hind sight, but I guess the basic VCDS wouldnt let me do that? Ive just Bought a Icarsoft pro v2.0 off of the bay again. It seems quite good, and has done DPF regen on 2 octavias of mine already. But doesnt seem to cover this thing. Happy to pay someone pound notes if they can bob round.😉

bought a headlight from a Bay seller, came bare. Swapped over the drivers/ballasts, but doesnt come on when tried it and my scan tool says light is not coded to the car!!!! Bloody cars getting to clever these days, or dumb in my opinion. Its a bloody joke you cant replace a headlight unit now, with out the buggers making you take it to a main dealer to get it to work. Total bloody con/rip off. So a title says really if you can help ta Paul B aka Masterbateson

Not sure why you need to spit your dummy, just because I would like to see some actual pictures/evidence that the inlet manifold doesnt suffer from excess carbon build up. Last time i checked, i think it was considered good practice to question things and find out the facts, science is based around that. Not just believing anything people say, Im not being funny here, let me make that clear 1st, But i dont know any of you from a bar of soap, how do i know if your a skoda mechanic or a vw mechanic who knows what they are talking about???? I do however know quite a few people, usually in a pub, spouting absolute rubbish about cars and car maintenance, who in fact dont know one end of a ratchet from the other. So as i said b4, there must be some members on here who have done some maintenance and has pics of what they found when the intake manifold was off, or if they did a how too post covering what they did. I would post links to some Youtube videos Ive seen showing carbon build up but Not if people are going to get a MONK ON about it. Dont feel Im being unreasonable here, some people would like to have you believe the world is flat, I like to find some evidence b4 I make my mind up.

As Above, does the VRS / cuna engine still have core plugs? I remember once i had a kit car with a pinto engine in it, it came to me just b4 december and only had water in cooling system from previous owner. Anyway went out one day to work on it, it had been freezing and i noticed fluid resevoir was empty. After a lot of hunting around i eventually found these core plugs had been blown out. So wondering if this is something thats still on a modern engine. Reason Im asking is that my Rescue VRS has just had its new rad pack fitted and new coolant, ran fine for ages staying cool, and kept temp at 90 when had been running for ages. But coolant level had dropped the next day I looked at it, Its done this twice, no visible leaks from any pipes fitted to the new Pack. Also No apparent Milkshake, as i initially panicked that cylinder head might have gone. Mate of mine reckoned that his OCT did a similar thing, losing coolant slowly at 1st then got worse and he claims water pump was at fault? When i was doing the rad pack and a service, I noticed underneath the oil filter there seemed to be an electric water pump? below oil filter. Is this only one for the car or a secondary one? anyone else had one go wrong causing coolant loss? And if this was the case why cant i see a leak. Ta In advance PaulB

AFTER A BIT OF READING AND YOU TUBE WATCHING I THINK IVE GOT THE CART B4 THE HORSE. FROM MY UNDERSTANDING NOW, IT THE CRANK CASE THAT RE INTRODUCES THE GASSES BACK INTO THE INTAKE B4 THE EGR, THEN WHEN THE EGR OPENS AND VENTS THE SOOT TYPE STUFF IT MIXES WITH THE GASSES FROM THE CRANK CASE THUS CAUSING THE CARBON SLUDGE. SO YOU WOULD WANT TO NOT CONNECT THE CRANK CASE VENT PIPE ALLEGEDLY, THEN YOUR CAR ONLY HAS THE SOOT TO GET RID OF. i KNOW SOME PEEPS ON HERE HAVE SAID YOU SHOULDNT REMOVE OR MOD THE SET UP RE EGR. bUT HOW MANY OF THE PEOPLE SAYING THAT, HAVE TAKEN THE INLET MANIFOLD OFF AND INSPECTED FOR CARBON BUILD UP, ESPECIALLY ON THE VALVES? ID LIKE TO SEE SOME PICS IF YOU HAVE TO SUPPORT THIS. DONT THINK THERE IS AN EASY WAY TO STICK CAMERA DOWN TO CHECK WITHOUT TAKING INLET MANIFOLD OFF, IF THERE IS PLEASE DROP A POST/HOW TOO.

Ive done EGR delete's / block offs on other cars no prob, but believe mk3 vrs diesel is a bit more tricky. what happens if you do , do this? As above i was wondering if you could leave EGR in place, but instead just disconnect pipe from head and dump gasses out of the car via some tubing, and possibly via a catch can? In MGTF circles, some naughty people (honest wasnt me) would gut the insides of their Cats, wondering if you vould do same with a DPF? My MGTF used to pass emissions tests easily with a gutted Cat in place . Anyone done this already? P.s. Is it a bugger to remove intake and clean up carbon build on these cars? how long roughly and Do able for a competent DIY mech?

do all my own servicing and repairs etc, car is a rescue car from copart and currently hasnt got a face.😭 just got front bumper, drivers headlight, rad pack. Still need a head washer and a drivers fog light. But She's getting there.😁

Have a basic obd2 software on my laptop in conjuction with an Elm cable lead. not tried it on VRS yet. Did have a cheap Bay of E , VCDS lead and basic version of VCDS but gave it away rather stupidly with an Audi A4 convertible i sold this year🤪 So now wondering the above, dont know if my current lead will work with VCDS?? Along side this im pondering Buying a scan tool, and wondering if i can justify buying something like the Autel mk808 as they are not exactly cheap for an amatuer .

As title says basically. When I had an MGTF we had a section like this, where people posted links and advice on potential donor parts from other models or makes. Im preety sure a lot of other VAG,Seat,audi bit should fit. Also presumably if you can pick up a Cuna rad pack off a 2.0tdi it should be same as VRS? Seems sellers on the Bay of E like to jack the prices up if its for the VRS. Im thinking if the mk2 rad pack is different maybe the actual cores are the same or rear enough that they can be swapped over, even if a bit of fettling was needed. Plus MK2 is twin fan so surely better

anyone tried fitting mk2 rad pack in a mk3? if not direct fit wondering if the cores can be transplanted as mk2 much cheaper on the Bay also notice mk2 rad pack is twin fan so surely better? dont mind doing a bit of fettling/ fabrication

Ive just picked up a vrs with a bump on its nose, looking to replace at least one headlight and wanted to know if you can downgrade the headlights to standard mk3 headlights? as these are easier to source . Not fussed about any loss of performance as ive used halogen so far in other cars and its been fine for me. Also Im looking to replace the bumper Ideally with one in same colour to avoid spraying, I can source one locally from a 2017 plate looks similar to VRS but is possibly a sport model??? Anyone know if the 2017 bumper will fit? OH and finally noticed the rad has a broken plastic connector which looks removable, are these available/replacable or would this do and come with this plastic elbow thats broke??? https://www.eurocarparts.com/p/eis-203440810
