  1. Thank you for replies. I’ve not changed the lock as yet as I’m not convinced that’s the problem or ruled it out either, the open door symbol know goes off however the alarm goes off if you set remote locking or at random time’s when locking with key - all a bit frustrating
  2. Worth considering though. thank you. Will take it to local garage to quote for a new switch
  3. That’s interesting is there a window motor module for each front windows or 1 for all electric windows. When we took of door panel of we had to disconnect all wiring which I’m sure would have included the window motor module? the only fault shown on the computer was to do with passenger side window?
  4. I tried whacking it door panel side but no joy. The micro switch is in such a rubbish position, door panel off, door lock out etc.
  5. I really could do with some help. have a 2008 Fabia estate 1.9 TDI. It’s my second mk2 Fabia. Had it for a year and a half. Today my wife was using car and when she got in to drive home the dash display was showing drivers door open. She opened and closed etc but was still showing on dash. Came home and car wouldn’t lock on remote. I suspect lock fault so spayed lock with wd40, checked fuses and then went to disconnect battery to try reset when the door open symbol went off but immediately set alarm off and came back on. locked car with key and as we are both key workers and share car rang RAC. great guy came out he tested bonnet micro switch and sure enough with bonnet open, display goes of when switch unplugged. We decided to take door cover off and switch of drivers door lock micro switch only to realise that the door switch is hidden inside door lock mechanism and has to be unsoldered!!!! can the wires be cut to the switch (red/blue) or has anyone had similar issue? With door micro switch.
