  1. Heyyo lads and lasses. I forgot to say goodbye when i left here back in i don't even remember, but i'm returning as i'm buying another Skoda after having been a traitor for the last 8 years. I went and got myself an '00 HR-V as recommended to me by my father, and boy, what a mistake. I finally got completely fed up with it and am officially throwing it away as of today and am going to a used car lot next week (or the week after) and getting a 2013 Citigo i've been eye-ing for a little while.
  2. So Hi, it's been a while since i posted on here. Anyway. My little felly hasn't been doing too good. I Found out what's been bothering it and it seems to be the Selectorshaft connected from the shifter to the gearbox. I just heard from a car technician that all the joints connecting (and holding) the shaft in place are broken, and therefore the whole thing can't be fixed. The shaft is currently being held in place by 5 of these plastic belt straps. (refer to images) Now. The part where i'd need YOUR help is i need to get a new thingy for my gearbox, i'm not sure whether i need a whole new gearbox, but if so, then so be it. I don't want to order it from the Icelandic Hekla dealership due to overpricing, so general price ideas, and ideas on how much shipping (from the UK) to Iceland might possibly cost would be greatly apperciated. Thanks.
  3. Yeah, my gearlever has always been a bit flippy (moves around Very freely), i'll record a vid on my cam later tonight and upload to youtube, and later, share it on here. Plan B. Call a friend mechanic and get the car to his shop and see if he'll check the car later tonight/sometime tomorrow.
  4. So now, for a more detailed info attempt: My car's gearbox has been causing trouble for about a year and a half. I Can't drive fast and well on gravel roads because it's happened twice already that the gearlever/rod disconnects, resulting in it falling and hitting the ground, but the "gearshifter" dragging it along. I've also jumped my felly. Three times!, never did anything (too) bad to it, i think, but i was pretty well damn stupid at the time. Now the gearbox started working properly back in late 2009, and well, has been working "okay" for me at least ever since, but i'd always have to "SLAM!" the gearshifter HARD to the side, and knock it down to get the car into 2nd. Now, Today, i have to slam the following gears: 1st. 2nd. 5th. and reverse. Thing is, that now with 5th gear i have to slide it lightly backwards towards the reverse gear, and then punch it forwards, to the right corner to get it "connected". If i "slam" 1st gear improperly it goes into 3rd, and if 2nd is done wrong, you go into 4th. a couple of my friends have made the mistake, in response i laughed. Hysterically.
  5. So i've been driving my ol 98 felly from time to time, but about 12 months ago it started feeling like the gearbox was doing it's last run, so i got it to a repair shop and the guy there told me about some levers or something which make the gearlever get into the gear you aim for. I'm 99% sure some of those levers have gone bent, or even possibly broken. I *CAN* get it to 1st gear, 2nd works worse than before,3rd & 4th work without problems, can't get into 5th. 'Tis my first car, and i've had it since Aug. 2007, and i'd hate to give up on it now :( So for short, could you tell me what's wrong, and or how much it would cost to buy the new part?
  6. dad just suggested i put some antifreeze in the petroltank since it's been below freezing -2 for the last 8 straight days, he thinks the tank may just have some water in it since i'm so poor i can't afford to even half-fill it every week.
  7. Everytime i coldstart my '98 felicia in the wet it seems to have some kind of problem...i was planning to go out and get something to eat just now, but when i started it, the running sound was like a two-stroke lawnmower...it was struggling to rev, so i decided not to go out driving since i'd be expecting it to die, as i has has before, but it's never been this bad though. it took roughly 4.5seconds to rev from idling to 3500rpm so yeah, sounding a little like a lawnmower there, also made a small pop when the rpms were going back down. What do you think might be wrong with it?
  8. bwahahaha.... Believe me, it's not that difficult... took me about 40 minutes to take out the standard tape player, and put in my Jvc Mp3 cd player... however, hiding the cables was a different story, since i have an amplifier in the trunk, and all kinds of stuff to hide... that's where ducktape comes in handy, just do a good few circles around the cables, and do a little skidding just behind the ashtray, and you're good...
  9. Just Finished uploading the Better Version,Which is in HD, you can watch it here, or click on the youtube logo in the player and go to youtube to watch it (makes it easier to rate, comment or/and subscrube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=um1M7JevH9c
  10. just remebered that fixing the damper seemed to have fixed the problem 0.o.... for how long exactly have i been hearing that sound? i'd guess over a year and a half...but for someone who regularily checks out if there's anything wrong with his car...weird to see that the damper thing was working fine....a year ago... but i personally must admit, and i'm being serious here...i like driving out to the country side, and i do it Fast...doing 40-60kmh doesn't cut it, so i'm used to 80 to 140kmh on the gravel roads...plus, you don't even feel the potholes (considering you're going 130-140kmh)
  11. well, i did have a shagged suspension, but i got it fixed, got the car out of the garage yesterday... the new front-right damper cost me almost £80, whereas the installation cost merely £66... and No! i don't want another car, i like my felly, we've been through so much together, and it always seems to pull through, so i wanna fix it, i want to make it better
  12. Current condition of the car: Engine is close mint, gearbox is close ****, interior is la-la (few cigarette burns here n there, plus on front seats, as well as read seats... my dad thought it'd be a good idea to paint white sportstripes alongside the car, on both sides...i didn't have a say in the matter since i wasn't 18 yet, and couldn't thereby own a car, legally... Anyway...on with the things that are Wrong with the car, and the things i want to replace: Driverside Sunshade broke this winter, somehow the thing in the holder broke, so now it won't stay in place... Broken (yes, literally, but by small parts) bumpers, both front and rear, a little rust damage on the sides, but of course i'd fix that too Right frontside of the car, the part leading to the bonnet/front bumper is a bit broken, since i got in a light collision with another car, in december '07 All doors have small impact marks on them...don't know why for all the doors, but i drove into a um...fishbox? (a box in which you strore fish along with ice, to unload the fish off a ship) once hit a pole (by a sidehit, i was squeezing my car into a place it shouldn't have been to :p) So...the things i would like to replace are: The Seats (Leather ones would be awesome), The Steering wheel (i'd like a nicer one ) New Doors, all around (wouldn't mind leather doors, for that matter) New Bumpers New Body kit (Preferrably a little nicer than the original) insert cool gadget here, that could sit nicely where the ashtray was New Colour on the car..i'm kinda fed up with the blue original one... Now what i'd need you guys to do, is if you would, find where i could get those things delivered to iceland, sometime this summer
