  1. I need to replace the leaky fuel feed pipework on my 2006 Roomster 1.9 TDi About 122 Euro for the Skoda parts, or can I go about this using generic parts? Anyone done the job? What do you need to get it done? Did it cost you any hair? If anyone knows, thanks Tee
  2. The scrappies have these, all used p[arts, those I found on EBay are clearly damaged on removal from donor cars and have snapped-off female lugs for the mating 'male' lugs that are on the console mounting point Are there any alternatives? The Yeti part looks to take the same electric connector, but not sure it would click-fit in the console. Any ideas?
  3. Just to update, been starting absolutely instantly. In fact never had a diesel start so enthusiastically. Put of bottle of Comma D-Tox through just to clean everything. 'touch wood' Thanks !!!
  4. I had another go. Cranked the engine for a long time... much longer than before.. it started to splutter. The odd splutter here and there.... I thought the battery would drain first... Then it kicked into life ! I'm letting it run on idle for a while until I figure out my next step I don't want to take a car to the country that's likely to fail again the same way if I can ameliorate it a bit now Any ideas what the issue was? (parked after the coldest night) How I might address it ? thanks
  5. If I look to see if diesel is going at the Inlet and out at the Outlet at the fuel filter (when cranking), is that the next logical step ?
  6. Hi Ken, thanks. I got a friend to help. She reports no smoke or anything seen from the exhaust during a long crank of the engine
  7. A huge Yorkie who gives the most gorgeous eye-contact and a cute little Westie ! They love each other
  8. Hi, the rev counter does not move immediately when cranking. After about 2-3 seconds the rev counter moves up a little to show as about 500 rpm ? 1/2 a tank of fresh fuel Only had car a few weeks. No history when fuel filter renewed. I note that when cranking the engine, the Oil pressure symbol comes on with a buzzer. Please excuse my newbie, how do I most easily verify fuel to the tandem pump? (I have no ramps just very basic kit) Appreciate you helping, my dogs are panicking now...
  9. It momentarily sounds like there are metal bits in a food blender Please help.
  10. After the coldest day of the year where I live, it got to -7C Went to start the Roomster, it cranks fine, but no kick in at all. Just chugga chugga chugga till the battery flats I placed my phone on the Fuel Feed Pump lid to record the sound when I turn the starter key to the first light - it makes this noise before I turn the key fully to crank: yow! What's that crunching noise? Is that normal ? Coincidence? What do I do next ? feed pump.m4a
  11. hello everyone. I am Tea from the NW England. Saw so many useful tips coming from this forum on Google searches, I felt I had to join. I have a new-to-me Skoda Roomster Tdi 1.9 (2006) I live for my dogs, and my Roomster is ideal for them. I drink tea... lots of it... I play the cornet in brass bands at a very beginner level
