Thanks for all the helpful responses, really useful advice. I would have assumed that they did electrostatically paint but it sounds like they don't always.

I'm looked at buying this very clean looked octavia vRS but one thing that concerns me is the paintwork under the bonnet. You can see primer behind the panels which makes me think it's not the original bonnet as the factory paint normally covers all the surfaces, and that it's a spare which has been resprayed after accident repair. Does anyone know of their Octavia paintwork goes behind the panels?
