Felicia throttle body reset? Cornwall
This is a subject that has been covered on here a few times. Following work for MOT, mechanic cleaned throttle body and to cut long story short, car now idles intermittently at 2,000 revs or 1,000 revs. It ran perfectly fine before. I have tried the reset of removing battery, turning on lights etc but no difference. After seeing posts on here I bought a VAG COM cable from eBay (Don't condemn me!) I got as far as fault code - throttle body problem but when I tried to get into option 04, it says I need to register the software or something. I think I need to get a software licence - is that correct? I wanted to try and deal with it after paying for MOT work (we only got this particular car a few months ago) but getting nowhere. I can't see anyone listed in Cornwall on the forum with VAG COM willing to assist other members. So, can anyone suggest anyone in Cornwall that might do this? Or any other suggestions - it's not currently a pleasure to drive. Thanks or listening!

Throttle body re-set needed in Cornwall
Thanks for taking time to reply. Our mechanic is semi-retired. We have been going to him for years - he is old school but really thorough. He let us have the car back after MOT but said he thought the running was due to faulty thermostat. It was faulty and we replaced it but running still same. I've seen other posts on here which is what led me to think re-set. I'll post under Felicia section as you suggest and see what happens! Many thanks, Lesley

Throttle body re-set needed in Cornwall
Have tried the suggested procedure and run car for few days - unfortunately it hasn't resolved the problem. Is sill idling at 2,000 revs. Intermittent. It returns to about 1,000 revs if you press throttle hard or go to pull away. Pulling up to a junction or turning is embarrassing! So annoying - was running fine before mechanic cleaned the throttle body.

Throttle body re-set needed in Cornwall
Thanks for the info - the Felicia is a 2000 car, it's our 2 x Favorits that are 1995 - I've changed my profile, sorry for confusion! But only 5 years difference! We haven't had the Felicia very long. We had been looking for ages for an estate. We'll try what you suggest and fingers crossed!

Throttle body re-set needed in Cornwall
OK, thanks for the reply. I did manage to connect the cable I got before and it did give me a fault code reading which said throttle body but that's as far as I could get. I don't know what the mechanic did other than he said he had cleaned it. I will give this a go though and see what happens and let you know. Lesley.

Throttle body re-set needed in Cornwall
Can anyone recommend somewhere I can get a throttle body reset on my Felicia estate in Cornwall? I had some work done a couple of months ago ahead of MOT and mechanic cleaned the throttle body (being helpful) but now running rough. Bought blue VAGCOM cable from ebay (don't condemn me!) and had a go, but then realised I need the software. Going in circles.

Just re-joined in Cornwall
Hello, I have just re-joined here in Cornwall. We have 2 Favorits - an estate and a hatchback plus a Felicia estate. Have owned a number of these great cars for the past 20 years or so.
