  1. Hi I have given up trying to fix my Columbus unit as it kept showing the insert swl cd error. I have purchased a secondhand one from a scrapyard but the anti-theft 4 digit pin is being asked for. Is there a way to get this pin from the SK number on the unit or is it got from the car and do i need to go back to the Scrapyard. Couldnt find the pin for my old Columbus unit in my car so not sure where you get hold of it. Any help would be appreciated.
  2. I am getting "insert swl cd error" after trying the steps on a previous topic. Not sure if the dvd-m5 is busted or what. Unless i could get an Image i could burn or replace the DVD Im not sure what else to do with it.
  3. Can I get recommendations where to pick up a secondhand or refurbished columbus unit The details are it is hw 23 sw 6270.I have tried to fix it but still get the error message.
  4. Tried with a cd-r and the 6276 version from @varooom but still getting the insert swl cd error. So it must be down to the dvd-m5 position not being correct. I will go back to this a try again
  5. I burnt it on to a rewritable CD. Will try a CD R and see if i have any more luck.
  6. Have encountered the skoda restart issue. My columbus unit is hw 23 sw 6270. I have replaced the ssd using the steps from https://www.vwwatercooled.com.au/forums/f78/rns-510-hdd-replacement-ssd-swap-diy-60984.html i am now stuck trying to put the firmware on it. The latest firmware being 6276 The dvd locked on it with a cd in and I took apart the dvd and put in the new firmware disc ensuring the dvd was in the locked/home position. When I turn on the unit and boot into the setup screen (setup, eject and mic) I get the insert swl cd Error I am left wondering 1. Is the firmware i have correct? Can anyone provide a link 2. Is the dvd drive busted ...... if so is there any other way to get firmware on or would anyone have an image taken of their harddrive that I could download. Any help would be greatly appreciated
