  1. Hi all, Just purchased a used Skoda Fabia Monte Carlo 1.2 TSI Estate 2017 plate, lovely looking car and fantastic little petrol engine with manual 6 speed gearbox. Got this car from a place in South Yorkshire, I first saw it for sale with the garage at beginning of Dec 2022 and ended up buying it a week ago - so it's fair to say it's been sat in a garage not moving potentially for a couple of months, not sure if this is a good or bad thing. Car only has 30k miles on it and 1 previous owner - test drove last week and was lovely, purchased and comes with a 6 months warranty covering pretty much everything apart from wear and tear. Got in car yesterday morning and started up fine, however I've noted that there is a metallic / hollow rattle whenever the accelerator is touched, this sound definitely was there before yesterday morning. The rattle noise can be heard during all increments of RPM, however its a little strange because let's just say I'm travelling at 35MPH accelerating in 3rd or 4th gear you can gear the rattle, if I take my foot off the accelerator while still travelling at this speed in gear the rattle noise completely goes away? Do you have any ideas? I'm thinking maybe something to do with accelerator housing as the noise goes when it isn't touched? Also heard maybe a loose heat shield maybe inside turbocharger? Not too worried as its under warranty still - just a new noise that wasn't there when I got it a week back. Thanks all 👍
