Not sure if anyone has experienced the following? My VRS alarm started going off early in the morning and nothing I did would turn it off (very embarrassing ) even started the car and alarm still going. Eventually went off after 5 ish minutes. Called dealer who have checked and told me there is a fault (recall) with the locks and new ones need to be fitted. Apparently they don’t know which locks were fitted to which car and only know when there is a fault. Letting you know in case you have ever had any issues with locks/alarms it maybe worth having it checked.

Thanks John. That’s really interesting and what I’ve been thinking but not even Skoda can give me a current list price. I already have a 2021 VRS petrol and feel I may as well keep it if I’m going to have to pay the extra tax on the iv as I’m not sure I’ll be saving very much after the trade in and £560 a year for 5 years. It will be a shame as I’ve looked forward to getting it. 😬

Hi Simon. A bit off topic but how much is your Tax on new car, did you have extras that pushed it above 40k and the 5 year extra £390 tax? Mine is being delivered in a few weeks and nobody seems to know the list price, not even Skoda 🤷♂️ many thanks.

Hi fellow Skoda owners. I have a question that even the main dealers can’t answer and was hoping someone on here had taken delivery of a brand new Octavia VRS IV estate in the past few weeks? I ordered mine in June 2022 and my list price was below the 40k which would mean only £170 vehicle excise duty (VED) I have been informed my car is now built and on a ship so only weeks away. I’m concerned that the list price may have increased like everything else which may mean I would have to pay an extra £390 for 5 years on my VED which was never the plan. My price is fixed but unfortunately Government don’t use the price I’m paying for it, just the list price and as Skoda don’t list this car anymore even they don’t know 🤷♂️😬 I’ve had no extras fitted to keep it under the 40k. Someone must of had one delivered recently. Thanks in advance for any help.
