Thanks KenONeil, I have a Bluetooth one that plugs in via the port but I cut corners (never a good idea really) and bought cheap and although it reads and erases codes, it won't do much more unless you subscribe to the pro version of the app that it uses. So I subscribed to a year and then it made the service section available, but when I went to use it, it kept saying fault carrying out request. I contacted the app developer, who looked at the error log I sent and basically said I'd bought cheap crap! Lol he sent a load of information about different obd2 readers but it was so confusing and went round in circles, one minute saying a particular brands item Was excellent, then saying it was crap. I was hoping someone could clear the mist of confusion and recommend a tried and tested model that isn't too expensive but will do what I need!
