Front door cable bellows assembly
Thank you for this Pete. I had seen that video and seeing it again shows me I have done nothing wrong but just can't clip it in place. Possibly impatience or hamfistedness on my part lol. Anyway thank you once again. Cliff

Front door cable bellows assembly
Nearly completed changing out the window winder plate assembly on front passenger door of my Fabia Estate. Stuck though on a stupid thing. I can't get get the cable bellows back on the Apost. Reluctant to remove drivers side to see in case I In the give myself another problem lol. In the door I have fitted the bellows over the white plastic surround and clipped it home. However at the A post end there does not seem space to fit anything over the plugs. I must have something wrong somewhere. Can another kind person point me in right direction please. Cliff

Front door lock support bracket - do I need it?
I shall have to follow your advice here as it will be really messy otherwise although maybe I can partially tighten the rivets and then apply sealant before final tightening and ensure a good deal. I have to follow up with sealing up the rear door winder plates as I am getting damp rear carpets. Cliff

Front door lock support bracket - do I need it?
Thank you that is very useful. I am fitting a new carrier plate and intend to put a bead of silicon sealant around to supplement the gasket. There were signs of water seapage when I removed the old plate. So providing I can thread the button rod through all right I should manage without the additional support. Thanks again. Cliff

Front door lock support bracket - do I need it?
When removing my front passenger door lock the supporting bracket riveted to the unit broke off. I had to drill out the plastic spigots to remove from the aluminium door plate. From what I see on YouTube I am not the first to break one. A new lock I have just bought does not have said bracket but one could be fitted. I don't think these are available as spares so my question is what purpose does it serve and is it essential to fit the lock? I think the lock will be sufficiently supported by the 2 bolts holding the lock to the door frame. But can the lock be located if not fixed to the aluminium door plate? Any comments would be welcomed.

Removing non locking part of door handle
I bought a low price set of torque drivers off Amazon and they came today. With a lot of fiddling I located a screw head that was not even visible with a torch and easily undud the 12 turns. With only gentle leverage I was able to remove the plastic plug piece. What joy! I could hhdn remove the lock by releasing the operating wire from the handle. Thanks for your guidance.

Removing non locking part of door handle
Hi again. Have looked at some of those but it still talks of a T20 screw. No screw appears to exist in either of the holes behind the grommets. The upper one appears to have just the outer casing of the insert I am trying to remove and the lower one has just a hole but no screw is apparent. Thank you anyway for taking trouble to reply to my post. Cliff

Removing non locking part of door handle
Hi all. 77years old and still get caught out and cursing the job. Can someone please tell me how to remove the part of the front passenger side door in my image of the handle so I can release the cable and remove the lock. As you can see I have already damaged and butchered the surrounding paintwork. I am at a loss. The lock is hanging in the door but I can't remove or hope to refix the cable from that end. Surely this part must come out. There are no screws to remove in either of the two small holes used for a key locking door handle. Very grateful for advice please. Cliff

Will I need a radio code?
Thank you Ken I was hoping that was the case but I could not totally understand what it was saying about comfort codes in the owners manual for the Symphony.

Will I need a radio code?
I am going to need to isolate the battery on my 2004 Fabia 1.4TDI Estate. I do not have a radio code. Car is fitted with the factory Symphony cd radio. Do I need a code and if so is there an easy way to get one? I have a Citroen Berlingo of similar age and the radio is coded to work only in that vehicle but I don't think Skoda is same.

1.4TD Estate Rear Screen washer
Pete Thank you so much for that. I have just had a look and sure enough the jet is exactly where you said it was. Weather was very frosty when I got the car so will investigate where you have said if jet is not just blocked - I don't get luck like that though. Very grateful as I was getting very puzzled.

1.4TD Estate Rear Screen washer
Hi. I recently acquired a 2004 Fabia Estate 1.4TD. When I operate the rear wiper and push the operating lever forward you can hear the pump for the washer operating but there is no wash at the wiper. The wiper arm has none of the jet fitments. I actually bought a jet and an arm but I now fing there is no facility to fit as the spindle is solid. Does this mean my model is not equipped with a rear washer or has wrong motor been fitted.I am unaware of the pipes are in place until I can look behind the tailgate panel but will leave well alone if it was not fitted with a washer from new. Can any body advise me on this please?

Hi everyone. I have just purchased a 2004 Fabia 1.4TDI Estate which I am very pleased with. I have put it into a local garage to find out why the air conditioning is not functioning and thought I would get an idea of what problem might be.I did a Google search as you do and found this forum. I live in Gillingham, the one in North Dorset, South West England. At 75 years old now I don't have the ability to do all my own servicing and repairs like I used to but am sure I will have to get my hands dirty from time to time. I look forward to meeting some of you I am sure as I get involved in some of the forum debates. Let the games begin!
