  1. For peace of mind i ended up taking the wheel and measuring the disc - ended up being 288. Now to order the parts - planning on using the EBC Premium discs and greenstuff pads combo. Anybody has experience with these? After some discount codes can get these for just under £300 (front+rear discs and pads) delivered.
  2. Hi guys, Looking do a full break job (front&back discs and pads) on my octavia but struggling to figure out what size replacements i need to order. I was able to get the rear breaks PR code of the boot sticker (1KD) but no such luck for the front. Is there any way to figure out what size breaks i have without taking the wheels off? All i know is that my front calipers are TRW. Is there any way to get the PR code for the front breaks using the VIN? Any help would be much appreciated.
  3. Hi guys. I've been looking to buy a Skoda Octavia 1.8 TSI L&K Dsg and finally found one within Mt budget on paper ticking all the boxes. Then I started reading the forum and won't lie the many horror stories about the chain and oil issues are enough to put a person off. But I'm just drawn to the 1.8 L&K like a moth to a fire 😅. It's an '11 plate car with 84k miles and full service history. Link to the ad here. How big of a risk, considering all the know 1.8 TSI issues, is it getting a car this age with this milage. Are there any preventative measures that can be taken to prolong the life of the engine or should I just forget about the 1.8 L&K and go for a 1.4 TSI instead? Any advice would be greatly appreciated, Kris
