Couple of dash lights had come on but seem to have cleared. And I've just done a 500 mile journey over 2 days with no problem so I will go ahead with buying the tool, see if anything comes up and then I might be in a position, (also in future), to just 'tell' the mechanic what's wrong and not have to pay an extra 50 for initial diagnosis hook up. Or maybe that's just in my dream world... 🤪 Off topic i know but... initial (failed) attempt by laptop to upload windows 11 caused the battery to stop charging, so I can't use it without the charging lead now 😠

Soooo I finally got out to put the charger on to see what numbers came up. It said 12.4v 2a On a quick Googling.. it looks like this is low? Driving today, no battery light coming up but then suddenly a flashing battery light, then nothing. So am I correct in thinking... Remove the battery and slow charge it? Or might it be a computer glitch? 😬 Or other? 🙏

Morning 🌻 So the log book says registered jan 2015. But also says Type: 5J I would've said it looks like the first pic, but prob best to not go by that anyway as i had the 2006 one for 10 years and it's prob that stuck in my memory. Hellooo I have intermittent battery and windscreen washer light coming up on dash. I filled the reservoir and cleaned and dried the negative battery terminal (the pos looked ok (and my hands were cold 😬)). Previously, it was on really dimly. Tonight (after cleaning etc) it only came on when I put the headlights on. I don't think it's the alternator, otherwise why would the windscreen washer light also be coming on 🤔 Would appreciate advice from those in the know 🙂 Thanks in advance 🙏

Thanks. It's not the sound you get at steering lock left or right. I didn't explain it properly on my first post 🙄... I tested it driving in a circle (but not fully turning the wheel). It's like a honing noise. The steering is quite soft, so doubtful that it's fluid related but I'll live with it for now as, from the replies, it doesn't sound like something to worry about. Many thanks all for the advice/ info 🙏

Thanks very much Mike... that all makes perfect sense. 🤔 It doesn't sound like the noise that's made when you turn the wheel to its limit. It's different. But it could still be the cause/ problem. And that would probably make sense in terms of it not being a problem that 'must' be fixed. Thank you muchly 🙏

Hi Recently bought a 2014 Fabia. Need to diagnose steering noise problem before the warranty is up. The mechanic says it might just be one of those things you have to live with 🙄 It's a whining noise, but not high pitched. Can only hear it at slower speed, turning sharp right or left (like when pulling into a parking space). Seems to be getting louder as time goes on. Any thoughts?

In the usb preferences, it just stays on "this device". It won't change to connected device. 🤷‍♀️ I tried my phone and an ipod touch. I've read that it might work with a usb stick but I think I'm gonna return it. 🫤 So will an aux cable work with both phone and iPod? Thanks for your help 🙏

Did the cable work? I've looked at several and most of them say fabia up to 2013 🤷‍♀️ Or that the cable won't play music from an Android.

So get rid of the tyres at some point anyway... I assumed they would've put cheap ones on anyway. Is it a bad idea to get rims from a breakers? Is the car still driveable with a damaged rim. (I know it sounds like I'm worrying about something that might never happen but just wanna be prepared 🙄 and decide whether to just stick with them for now) Cheers

Thanks everyone for input. Yes.. turns out they're 205 / 40 / 17 So if I understand... I have to keep the tyres or change the rims 🤔 And if I change rims it could affect the insurance. I'll see how I go. I'm glad i don't live in Edinburgh... There's a pothole every 2 foot! Lovely pic dieselmonte.

Hello. New here. Be gentle with me. My heart is breaking at having to part with my 2006 Fabia 1.2 😢. Even moreso as it's likely to end up at the scrap merchants. Just about to buy a Monte Carlo. It wasn't intentional, it was just that it was the first Skoda I called about that hadn't already gone. 🫤 It has low profile tyres, which I'm not keen on because of pot holes etc. Question: Would you change the tyres if 'twere you? 🤔
