  1. Hi im in great need of your knowledge and expertise to fix my partners car as I'm all out of ideas and iv looked at all sorts. It's a Skoda Octavia mk1 1.9 alh engine Back story So it all started when the gauge in the tank stopped working found out when she ran it out of diesel so when it was out found out there was also a crack in the inner case so while there was no diesel in the lines I swapped the diesel filter out as might of sucked some crap up and I sorted another gauge out that was all good but had to wait for a bit and while I was waiting for it I kept using it just kept it the diesel topped up so it didn't drain it the part that has the crack and it was fine started and drove great just like normal untill I was driving it one day and it started to feel like it was running of diesel so pulled over turned it off and on again and was fine so drove it back home steadily got home and thought I will take it and put some more diesel in it just in case and on the way It just died on me it was like it just ran out diesel and stalled/bogged I got towed back got a 20l crash can filled it up and put it in and tried starting it no luck maybe air lock cracked injectors had diesel squirting put some easy start in it and went but then just died as fast as it started put a cheep scan tool on and had a fault code P0251 P0251 OBD-II Trouble Code: Injection Pump Fuel Metering Control "A" Malfunction (Cam/Rotor/Injector) So I replaced the pump with another one checked the timing just in case (done the timing belt last August) all was good so put it all back together and bleed the pump up, cleared fault codes, the fuel gauge turned up so put that In but aswell but still crank with no start so thought maybe just maybe might be fuel so 10liters of diesel still crank no start wtf 😡 So thought maybe a air lock somewhere so started it on easy start and ran it on easy start till I new it would have no air in it (I know you shouldn't do that blah blah it made sure there was no air job 👍) still no start on its own so put my cheep ass diagnostic tool back on and some how gained more code. P0251 is the pump what I now is a good pump P0243 wastgate solenoid I think that where I was checking the vac lines P0489 egr again vac line P0216 Skoda Injection Timing Control Circuit Malfunction or something Google told me also said about crankshaft sensor so my next perches was a crank sensor so got one fitted and tryed no joy still no start so what now must be electrical great 😔 Checked power going into the pump on the engine and nothing great checked the relays seem all good clicking and stuff fuses are good I replaced them all with all new ones just because I could still no start no power to pump that I can tell checked it at the plug and there is no power. So that's where I'm up to the only thing I can think of next to try is ECU but I don't want to keep throwing money at it when it's not going to sort it and I'm not sure but wouldn't the ECU need the immobilizer programming to it aswell so more money. The battery is always fully charged as I take it off and trickle charge it over night to full charge before it goes back on when I'm tinkering on it if I'm not working on it the battery is on charge till Im working on it next. Any help would be great I have just ran out of things to look at and do pretty much and getting me down. Thank you very much in advance Image of my engine
