Thought I’d share my worthless opinion and experience, I have a 2018 Octavia 1.6tdi with the dq200 dsg, had since 30k from Skoda now nudging 100k. Id go with what the taxi driver said, I did change mine very recently and tbh it looked exactly the same as the stuff I put back in, and what a job that was seriously I just wouldn’t bother it takes hours to refill via the breather, especially the mechatronics. I get my car serviced generally at a professional engine and gearbox rebuilders and they said new fluid can be good in any gearbox (with certain limitations) but where there is no clutch pack(s) immersed in oil there is little to no risk of contamination and even the mechatronics oil although hydraulic and therefore under pressure it’s not under pressure as say in a hydraulic ram. I won’t be doing it again just an utter pain and no appreciable benefit. I’ve just started saving the 4k for when it inevitably goes bang and needs replacing, would I have another, absolutely it’s a great gearbox.
