  1. I too am a bit disappionted with the system. My previous Tom tom, gave audible cam warnings, can I import that system via an SD card? Any help would be much appreciated
  2. Frister & Rossman? aren't they a Irish duo
  3. Hi All, Differeent problem to above but I hope someone can help. In the book you can set the time on the display to be corrected by RDS stations, but how do you display the time? I know this has been asked before, but I couldn't find an answer-anyone help me? Thanks in advance.
  4. My experience with buying from Wings was good until they had the car for an Annual Inspection. Cost £254.00 bit expensive I thought, but thing got worse. The (diesel) engine blew up on the MOT emissions test. Got a new engine under warranty, but it took a month, no offer of courtesy car. They lost the service history book and gave me someone else’s MOT Certificate. Got car back and went to Scotland on hols, broke down with a flat battery, they hadn’t connected the alternator. Got home and found what turned out to be a steering fluid leak, union not tightened. Broke down again in Watford, got home on a tow truck, n/s drive shaft sheared, (not their fault I know), nine working days to fix, they told me they only had one tech available. Staff attitude came across as couldn’t care less. Pretty girls as someone else said, but they can’t fix cars! Doubt very much if I’ll be going back to them. 2/12/07 They now have lost my car hire invoice and want a copy???
  5. Oil leak should now be cured, though it cost ME
  6. Got the car back 07/09/07 but now after some 800 miles, I've an oil leak. Oh well, back to the dealers again
  7. The engine had done 26000. they supplied and serviced the car from new (2003) I bought it at about 23000 so I don't suppose the belt had been changed.
  8. Thanks for the above comments, but it was very annoying at the time. As a bonus, diesel consumption has gone up, 69 MPG on a 300 mile run at steady 60 MPH, thats the silver lining I suppose Thanks John
  9. Hi All, I just wanted to run something by you all. My 53 plate Octavia went for service and MOT and the engine blew up on the emissions test. Many headaches but now got the car back with new (warranty) engine, that the good news. They then charged me £254 for the "service". After 200 mile trip up north, found battery flat, they hadn't connect the alternator. I was annoyed at first paying the money, now even more so. Am I being ungrateful or should I not have had to pay for the service? Thanks in advance for your opinions. John
  10. After nearly three weeks, I'm just about to get a decision from them, looks good, but they've not given a courtesy car, my patience is now thin.
  11. Thanks to all the above comments, I never saw or signed an disclaimer as far as I remember, only a service authority. They did the service just before the MOT and have serviced the car since new. Tester was very cagey and didn't commit himself. Sales Manager was also vague. I'll post an outcome, thanks again
  12. Hi Stu that's quick! I'm a new user of this site. The car is under Skoda Warranty, bought Feb 2007 26K only 53 plate. but it's early days yet, it only happened Thursday. I wondered if this has happened to anyone else? Ta John!
  13. Anyone had a diesel engine blow? Mine did on an MOT at a Skoda dealer. Where do I go from here?
