Hi I've ended my journey but thought the information below may be of use to some of you. I ordered in Sept 22 the Vrs IV estate was given date of Oct 23 for estimated delivery, I came back off holiday a couple of weeks back and this date had changed to Jan. Fast forward to last week, I get a courtesy call from the broker who is sorting out my car, they explain about the delayed delivery and now say after speaking to Skoda UK this date will realistically be closer to May/June 2024. However a couple of days following this conversation I get an email from the broker with the following information - We have received an update containing an apology from Skoda UK in relation to your order for a new Octavia, as Skoda remain unable to provide a clear and concise picture as to when your vehicle will be built. Skoda UK are in regular contact with the factory regarding production challenges with Octavia IV as production is constantly moving with very few units being built due to ongoing supply semi-conductor and other component restrictions. At present, the manufacturer does not have any alternative models or specifications available any sooner than your ordered car. Skoda have advised that you can keep your order live but there is no timeframe on when production will start. Alternatively, please do look at our stock/arriving soon page and other vehicles available with a much shorter lead-time. Skoda have assured us they would not look to charge any cancellation fee should you decide to cancel. I will be contacting you again over the coming days to assist you with these options and how you wish to proceed. I understand that this is not the news that you will be expecting, for this we apologise; it is disappointing for us also, as our priority is always to ensure you receive delivery of your new car as quickly as possible, but rest assured we will do all that we can to assist you. Please do call me back at your earliest convenience so I can assist you further on ***********. I was so really looking forward to getting this car but with no clear dates for build/delivery I've had no choice but to cancel, I now have a new Alfa Romeo Tonale PHEV ordered and this will be with me early Sept
