  1. I'm not a mechanic but used to be many years ago. I work on lots of cars but have not worked on very new ones. I can't check under the car at the moment as I've just had a hernia op so my bad for asking about the sump plug. If I can do a cam belt on a v70 with CVVT and gearbox or on a XC90 or a complete head job on. 300tdi then I'm more than capable of doing the cam belt on this. As with all new things we have to learn and knowledge is key. Mechanics learn from their workshop manual when a new engine is brought out.
  2. Are you trying to insult me?
  3. Yeah, just me being silly and listening to Idiots too much. It does have a sump plug. It's listed on the service sheet for parts supplied. I remembered some guy telling me that new cars don't have a plug and you have to suck the oil out. I was obviously very gullerble that day as my newest car is a 99 v70. Thanks Ok a separate note. Any one know the timing tools required for my engine 2.0 TDI 110kw 150bhp Engine number DSRA 👍😁👍
  4. I've just rung my main dealer and he said 5 years or 120000 miles. Apparently, of I thing the service department on Tuesday they will be able to tell me if it's been done. Mine has only been looked after by main dealer so that's okay for me.
  5. Only way to tell really is to check service history. See my thread called service. It's about vam belt as well. You will see my extensive main dealer service history with no cam belt change. It looks like 140000 is the number for it.
  6. Excuse my ignorance, I usually work on older cars. I had been told that the new cars don't have a sump plug. I did think it weird. I had not checked due to the under tray. Lol
  7. So about my other question in my first post Do these engines have a sump plug to drain oil or do I need to invest in a pump? 😁
  8. This is just what I've been finding out. It looks like the Skoda schedule is 140000 miles or 5 years. Whichever comes first 👍😁👍 Not cheap to have done at dealer. I've seen £850?
  9. Going to be used as a taxi so it will be really high mileage once I've finished with it so dealer services won't really matter by then. Looks like I best get it sorted 👍👍👍
  10. No different to the Volvo AWD being called a transfer box/angle gear/bevel gear and even a centre diff. I'm not going to sweat the small stuff. You are complete right though 😁
  11. Yeah, it's always funny how some things can be called different things....
  12. I also have all the repair orders from Skoda with parts list. Too many to photo but would be good as I'm not the most academic person to understand them 😞 I am pretty sure there is no timing belt or cam belt mentioned though
  13. Hey guys, thanks for your answers. The log book says the previous owner was VW fleet services. The service record has a man's name and lease vehicle. Brake fluid had been done with a few oil changes. I will try and photo and post on here. It's great a start stop issue dealt with. A sub axle. Also a turbo issue and the subframe removing and replacing. All done by Skoda main dealers.
  14. Thanks. I only bought it a month ago. It's on 133000 The indy sales where I bought it from told me the cam belt needs doing at 140000 I've been through the full service history as it's an ex VW fleet car so main dealer services only and there is no mention of a timing belt. Oil and filter changes plus other stuff but no timing belt. I assumed it would have been done at 80000 so next due at 160000. But maybe it is due it's first at 140000. That's a long time.........???
  15. Ooops. Sorry. 2020 2.0 TDI on a se technology with manual gearbox 👍👍👍
  16. Hi, I've not got a manual yet but service is coming up and wondered. Is this car a standard sump plug or do I need to invest in these oil pump things? Also, timing belt at 160000? Many thanks James
  17. Hi every one. Just bought a MY 2020 Superb SE to be used as my new venture. Taxi driving. How to have a few years of trouble free motoring...lol All the best from Folkestone James
