  1. Thanks guys, i will keep on pestering the main dealer its just the time without the car, 3 days in the last week and nothing resolved. I suppose it will be worth it in the end ,thanks again for the support, omni.
  2. Following a post regarding engine management light coming on. Now been to main dealer twice to have fault diagnosed. Has been diagnosed twice and the light has come back on virtually straight away each time. Really frustrating !!!! Fault has come up with high pressure in the low fuel pressure pump. Fault now showing at the time of diagnosis, but in the management system memory. Has anyone any ideas what could be causing this and how it can be fixed? Is still under warranty but main dealers seem to be reluctant to fix, but happy to keep putting light out. In the meantime, I'll keep pestering main dealer........ Any thoughts would be very welcome.
  3. Thanks for the help guys ,good to know it just my age:D
  4. Thanks guys , it is a genuine ross tech cable but 3 years old so i guessing need to buy new cable and update from ross tech . Making sokme sense now thought i was having a funny 5 mins.
  5. I wonder if someone could help me please? I have an Octavia vrs tfsi 07 and the engine management light has just come on. The car seems to be driving absolutely fine. Tried to plug in a vag com diagnostic box, but this came up with a message which said it didn't receive any data/didn't recognise vehicle. We then tried the box on a Golf, and it was reading fine. I am not sure whether this could be a software update issue or connecting lead. I would appreciate any information that anyone could give me before returning car to main dealer and paying fees. Thanks Omni
  6. To be honest dont think in hindsight neede to change them the old ones seemed to be as good as the new ones ,think it was just a matter of removing the plastic insert.
  7. I cant see they would be any different to mine ,they are 19mm, try avs car parts.
  8. Sorted it last night, jacked the car up ,left the wheels on and disconnected the droplinks from the arb, grabbing the arb and moving up and down creaking a goodun . So removed the clamps and cut the plastic sleeves off and hoorah no noise! Put it all back together and sweet as a nut. Thanks for the input guys Omni.
  9. Thanks for the input guys, think i will take the bushes off and remove the sleeves, hopefully the new bushes will not be too big on the bar without the sleeves, this noise is driving me mad!
  10. Sorry forgot to say 04 vrs 41000 miles , and i get the creaking by using a trolley jack on the chassis behind the front wheel. Has anyone else noticed this?
  11. Hi all, had a creaking noise started about a month ago. Did the normal thing and used the search on this wonderful site to try and discover the problem. As with so many a creaking from the front end on speed bumps etc. Last night i changed the arb bushed and drop links and bingo ,noise stopped , well at least for ten minutes, the fact it stopped tells me i am in the right area, how ever i left the plastic sleeves on the arb and fitted the new bushes on top . After more searching tonight should i have removed the sleeves and fitted the buses with grease, the bushes did have splits in, is this normal? or should they be solid. Would very much like some input i know i has been covered before but there seems to be some contradictions . Thanks again Omni.
