  1. UPDATE .. I've gotten my hands on another DQ200 mechatronic unit from a VW Polo and plugged it in (not fitted to the transmission, just sitting in the engine bay) and I can communicate with it so could swap that unit into the car but no idea how to clone the old unit without being able to communicate with that one.
  2. All fuses are good and wiring at TCU module seems to test correctly according to the service manual.
  3. Installing is no issue at all, but swapping units I just wanted to test the electrical connection to see if the second unit would get communication at least, but it didn't.
  4. No record of this car being part of any DSG recall. I checked the VIN and apparently this vehicle wasn't listed. I got a complete DQ200 mechatronics from a VW Eos and just plugged that in sitting in the engine bay to see if it would communicate with that one but no luck. Might be unlucky and have 2 failed TCU/MCU modules possibly so maybe I'll grab another to test just to be sure.
  5. The battery was out for days and a new and freshly charged battery fitted. I'll give it another shot anyway and report back.
  6. Normal dash lights but just no crank. So it all looked normal but acts as it would if the car wasn't in park but it was.
  7. Normal key start on this car .. not push button
  8. Any ideas or things to try would be really appreciated .. I'm open to any suggestions
  9. Hi everyone ... I've just picked up a 2015 Octavia VIN TMBKC9NE1F0176363 and have some confusing issues. The car was apparently driving but had an occasional transmission issue so it was parked up for 6 months .. we have fitted a new battery to it and cleared all faults .. on the first day it started and selected gears but we didn't road test it .. the next day it was starting engine sometimes and other times just no crank at all, and maybe half of the times it does start the engine will shut off after 2 seconds for no apparent reason .. DSG is flashing 'P' constantly and won't let me take it out of PARK .. when using shift selector override the shift lever moves between gears but the DSG doesn't actually select any gears Scan shows no communication with DSG .. I have checked all fuses and no issues, also tested at the DSG connector and have ground and both main power sources, also have the smaller third power working just fine .. tested voltage and resistance at canbus wires and they test perfectly (around 2.3v and 2.7v with around 60 ohm resistance) ... I have also temporarily plugged in another DQ200 mechatronics and still no communication I think I have done a fair bit of testing and just can't work it out, so I would love any input from anyone who knows more than me please Here is a full scan from VCDS
  10. Are units from VW interchangeable?.. if so would this car have the right bits for what I need? WVWZZZAUZFW274523
  11. Awesome .. thank you so much
  12. Is there any chance of finding a list of suitable part numbers
  13. How can I identify these units, will they have the name on them or do I need part numbers?
  14. Skoda are way less common here in Australia. I was hoping I could keep the screen I've got and just upgrade the MIB unit if that's possible?
  15. If I give you other VINs can you tell me if they have the suitable parts WVWZZZAUZJW026509 WVWZZZAUZJW140513 These ones for example?
