I read with interest the mounting excitement of some of your contributors in the expectation of obtaining their new Yeti. I note with interest also the complaints and moans about the long waiting list for a new vehicle. I was somewhat surprised, therefore, to note that on today's Skoda Used Car search, there are 82 used Yetis for sale nationally. Are these vehicles from disenchanted owners after their long and frustrating wait ? I am more disappointed, however, by the lack of 2nd-hand Octavia 4x4 Estates and Scout models (19 in total nationally) available. As a previous Octavia 4x4 owner, and now owner of a used Yeti, purchased at the time due to the lack of alternative mentioned Skodas available, I know which vehicle I prefer. Whilst the Yeti might be chic and trendy, according to the comments of some of your contributors, it's not half as versatile as the Estate, as far as I am concerned. Anyone of the same conclusion ?

Can anyone point me in the direction of an idiot's guide to the multi functional display functions on the Maxi-dot computer please ? I find the User Manual far from helpful for every function listed, and some don't even appear to get a mention at all, or is it just me ? My model is a 2.0 TDI CR 140 4x4 Elegance, and a simple explanation for each function would prove extremely useful.

Contacted my local Skoda dealer re a spare wheel (Steel rim 6J 16 ET50) + tyre, was told this was only available as a factory fitted option to a new vehicle,and quoted me a spare as fitted, i.e. Spitzberg alloy 7J 17 ET45 + tyre £££££ !!, plus loss of boot space. In view of this, does anyone have any information as to where a steel rim 6J can be purchased, and also from where a skinny space saver might be available ? Also does running with the skinny damage the transmission in any way ?? I've heard that it could.

Having recently purchased a second-hand Yeti Elegance 4x4 140 bhp, I am unhappy with the can of goo for a spare. Having read some of the forums it appears that other members feel the same. As my vehicle was second-hand, I did not have the option to fit the spare as a Factory Fitted Option. Does anyone know if the space saver wheel for the Octavia will also fit my model of Yeti, and will it fit in the floor well ? In view of the number of Octavias around, it seems the possibility of picking up a second-hand spacer saver is more likely with this model than the Yeti.
