Thanks Filip! The extra stepped beams in your's seem to go even higher than mine, but sounds more like @Felix2021 where the beams seem to be same height. Really interesting to note though that yours quickly dims as it moves off-centre. Do both those stepped beams go dim as you're driving and reset to that pattern when stopped (ie at traffic lights?)

@Felix2021 does that mean you had to send your's back to the dealer for adjusting? i should just bite the bullet and call them up to book it in sooner. I hate the idea of blinding other drivers with incorrectly aimed lights - such a pet hate. i had even manually lowered the angle slightly as the low beam's non-engine-on beam angle seemed too high for my liking. Doesn't look like there's anyway to separately control how the additional LEDs located in the inboard clusters are angled?

Thanks @Felix2021 - I noticed it's ever so slightly higher on the left too. Although to make that highest "step" line up with the middle one, it would have to make the whole cluster move down so far it would make the standard engine off beam uneven... If you're right about the steps lining up, then it's definitely a case the left one is misaligned as the beam gets higher with distance, whilst the middle step beam doesn't seem to. If that makes sense! I'll have to bring it up at it's next service but that's still another 5k KMs away and I'm already on a waitlist for a new dash in Feb due to warped heads up display cowling, and that's after 2 visits to deal with bad ride which was diagnosed as out of round tyres! So many trips to the dealer which is super far from me. Hi @Rooted nah even with no wall, the left beam goes up higher. Ie if I'm driving down a quiet suburban road, the left "stepped" beam goes so high that tree canopies and street signs get lit up in the distance and you can see the light going above the window line of parked cars. Tbh it's great as you can see cats about to run across the road etc but then a car will be waiting to pull out of an intersection and you can see their faces get lit up which must mean they're getting dazzled. I'll try and take a photo driving down a road at night tomorrow.

Here's another photo at the same distance as the first but with engine on. You can see the extra groups of beams which also move left and right with steering and seem to auto dim in built up areas (but not completely off and not very responsive either) - these are different to the auto high beams. I also haven't been able to confirm how effective the auto-high beams are as I haven't been able to drive down country roads at night yet (plus I prefer to control when my high beams turn on even with the auto-block out feature).

Hi forum friends, I've done a bit of digging around but haven't seen any examples of how the low beam on the matrix LED is meant to shine. I'm hoping some fellow Octy mk4 drivers can help confirm if my lights have the same angle or are off. I believe the kerb side (left in Australia) seems to shine too high up. The base level (ignition on, engine off) is set a nice normal angle, (first image) where you can see the cutoff is nice and straight. However, when the engine is on, the additional inner bulb group turn on and the additional beams appear, it's not so obvious in the second photo but the further the distance, the higher the angle. I do notice when in fully light and busy roads, those additional beams weaken by about half strength, however in low light areas or when stopped, the strength resets - it's great for seeing obstacles on the kerb side of roads, but it dazzles cars waiting to pull out from intersections or parked cars. I've been flashed multiple times by cars thinking my highbeams are on. To clarify, I'm not talking about auto-high beam / Dynamic Light Assist, there doesn't seem to be anyway to turn off these additional beam lights. I'm keen to see other matrix LED beam patterns, ie my sister has a Golf R mk8 and hers, whilst also a bit messy, stay relatively straight horizontally with only slight kinks.

Problem solved. After some time with the dealer to troubleshoot, it's been determined all 4 tyres likely have subtle flat spots so at certain speeds they'd create a resonant vibration. Swapped out for fresh new tyres and back to a smooth ride - very happy with the RS now!

@J.R. - sadly Australia doesn't have regular mandatory inspections. In the state of Victoria, we have Roadworthy Certificates which you only get when selling your car, but it's really just a safety check and doesn't include anything like that. I'll just have to wait for the dealer. @SouthernComfort - thanks for your sympathy, mate! Yeah it's turned me into a Debbie Downer when I should've been enjoying driving it on the twisties this long weekend! I might call them first thing on Tuesday if I can bring it in immediately rather than wait for Thursday as previously booked. Hmmmm I did wonder if it could've been CV axles, Ive had a Saab 9-3 combi with a worn joint but that wobble was more side to side whilst this feels more up and down. I guess all I can do, as you say, is bring it in and rely on Skoda doing the right thing! Here's hoping my loan car will be another RS!! 🤞

DCC faulty dampers?
I should mention Ive ruled out tyres, having had all 4 corners balanced by two different reuptable shops at my own expense - in the hopes of quickly solving it even if it would've been a warrantable item... I want to love this car so much but the ride is just awful right now.

Hi @J.R.and @Felix2021, Yup I sure did. I jacked the fronts up so I could lift up the boot and confirmed they're clear. The rear shocks don't seem to have any way to get to the metal rod itself so doesn't seem like they would come with it? I have a strong feeling it's a weak strut somewhere, likely the rear... There's too much jittery bounce as opposed to rock hard as if the chocks were still in place. When bouncing the rear using my 85kg weight onto the boot lip, it jumps more than I'd imagine for a sports tuned lowered suspension. Any other RS owners able to comment on how much they can bounce the rear? Barely any movement or still quite soft?

DCC faulty dampers?
Hi friends, I picked up my first Skoda last week, a brand new Octavia RS Wagon with all the bells and whistles including the Dynamic Chassis Control suspension. I took delivery from a dealer 45mins away from my work but by the time I made it back, I knew something was wrong. The suspension was far too unsettled and bumpy at suburban speeds around 60kmh (very jittery), and then on the highway it turned into more of a shake throughout the car. Unfortunately I was due back in the office for a meeting and deadlines for the rest of the week so i have to wait until next week until the Skoda dealer can inspect it. I had test driven the same model a few days prior and recall how smooth and even it was, which is what sealed the deal for me. Ive researched here and can confirm there are no suspension chocks in place, and have cycled through the DCC modes with little difference to the jitteriness but can indeed feel the difference to damping control. I wanted to see if anyone else has had issues with faulty dampers? I've had some electronic gremlins too and wanted to know if there was a way to "reset" the control module in case it's perhaps stuck in some error mode. No lights on dash. Thanks all!
