Full skoda history (NEVER missed) Discount only offered because they claim the original price quoted was "an estimate" and it came to more because mine had "the most expensive" type of pump... 😳 Interestingly... mine appears to be an auxillary pump rather than the main one, looks like I may have that to look forward to??

About a week ago the dreaded emissions light came up on the car (2016 VRS diesel 4x4). My first though was it was a bit weird as I'd only just done a 250 mile round trip that weekend, but I did a forced regen anyway to no avail, the light stayed on I then did a very short trip with the light on, when I got back to the car the light had gone off (RESULT... or so I thought) Later that day the dashboard kept on throwing up "put the car in park and call the garage" warning, but it would go off as quickly as it came on. It was already booked into the dealer and typically it's out of warranty just 2 months ago. The garage diagnosed it as an auxillary pump and it's being fitted (costing me just over £400 including the diagnostics, loan cars etc...) Has anyone else had this issue?

The Yeti and the Superb (both heavier cars) were also DSG, the Yeti was 4x4 etc... so I really cannot see why they would die at 43,000 miles when over 80K was achieve on the previous vehicles. To top it all the dealer sent me a quote for £80 to do the work and then actually charged me over £160 because they had made a mistake on the quote they sent out. I like to be kissed while i'm being F~*cked... (funny enough they didn't see the funny side of that when I suggested it)

At the dealer, the brake pad warning light came on, I thought it was just a loose or damaged sensor. Turns out it needs new pads, problem with the calipers is you can't really see.

Had my Octavia from new in Sept 16, I had a Yeti, Superb and Octavia before this, all did well over 80K before needing brake pads. My drive hasn't changed, maybe a few more motorway miles than previously, my driving style generally hasn't changed (I have probably slowed down if anything) Any ideas why I'd need brake pads so early?

You just never know when you are going to need it! Had my car repaired recently and I was crapping myself that they would write it off. On PCP if the insurance doesn't pay up to what you owe you're liable for the rest. For the money PCP is definitely worth it

Weird, it was working earlier on in the week, maybe they are updating the maps because they changed the date that new maps would be available on Sunday/Monday but they were still the old version

Skoda update portal updated on Monday that new maps would not be available until November now Version is still ECE 1 2017 (12,00GB)

So I came back to my car on Friday to see a large Spanish lorry trying to get through an impossibly tight gap, with my car at the front of it (think round peg, square hole) Cutting a long story shot, the trailer hit the A Post, I swore a lot, but got nowhere because the Portuguese driver spoke not a word of English but eventually we exchanged details. Insurance company have all the details but tell me it could be up to 6 months to get this all resolved, they are repairing the car though anyway.

Morning everyone. Just a quick query, is the heated screen supposed to come on on a frosty morning automatically? I've had heated screens on my previous 3 Skodas and can't remember any of them coming on automatically. TIA

Been messing around a bit with the different modes this last week and I have found that the Eco mode is not actually too bad to drive in commuter traffic. It's very smooth etc... and the MPG has taken a bit of a jump up. Not saying I will use it all the time but if I want a nice chilled out drive I'll probably use it over Drive.

Does anyone actually USE their waste bin, mine has spent 3 years rattling around in the boot because IMHO it was rubbish (pun sorta intended :p )

Spot on Coops, not just the motorways but also most A roads, my commute is A13, M25, A2 and I sit in the inside lane most of the way. Even in heavy traffic it's still the fastest moving lane

I live on top of a steepish hill and in previous winters (when we have had snow) I have come down it locked up (abs failed), sideways and the last time was backwards (I was facing forwards as I turned onto the top of the hill and it went wrong almost instantly) suffice to say it put the wind up me a bit so I chopped that car in for the 4x4 yeti. So far I've had a 4x4 for 3 years and NEVER had to use the 4 wheel drive in anger, which brings me onto my question.. Just out of interest does anyone also swap their tyres over to winters on their 4x4's?

Yup Skoda is at fault and caused 2 accidents (hitting the polo and the camera car hitting the Seat). Typical idiot driver not paying attention to the road in front of him, he clearly was not watching the road, no brakes until he swerves and clips the polo. Camera car guy was unlucky but also an idiot for not watching the road, I'd always try to position myself to see around the car in front of me, maybe up to 5-6 cars ahead whether that's by hogging the white line or by moving more over to the lines by the centre lane. It's very easy to sit here and poke fingers but we could say a other drivers are at fault also, van driver pulling out into lane 2 and clearly NOT reading the road or traffic to the side and in front of him. Fortunately it looks like no-one was badly injured only a few dented panels and NCB's

Can go E to S quickly enough though and there's always the paddles if you need to kick it down manually?

As you can see I've got far too much clutter on the back of the car so it needs a tidy up. Any suggestions for the best way to do it please?

It's in the VRS mode settings, there's Eco, Normal, Sport and Individual. IMHO ECO is a waste of time, I've spent more time kicking it into sport to get it to shift that it spent in Eco. Maybe ok for a nice open road where you only do one speed and can coast down hills etc... but I don't know of many roads like that round London!

I'm not a fan of the black pack so I'm happy with it, most of the VRS's I've seen have it so I like to be different, even if it's just bog standard . I may have a look around for the 19" Xtreme wheels though, I regret not ordering those now.

By the time I got there someone else wanted it lol Looks like I'll have to buy one from Superskoda.
