Hmm, they charge 150 sek (roughly 13 euro) for 24 hours of access. If I can crawl everything related to my vin number using a HTTP crawler to download everything so I get a offline copy of the data (for my personal use, don't want their legal team to hunt me down and burn me at the stake), then it might very well be worth it. I also found a copy of the Haynes repair manual for Skoda Octavia (in my own native language too) for dirt cheap, that one also in pristine condition without even a single speck of oil on it. Oh oh 🖐️, does it matter what brand I pick for the sensor? There's so many of them, Bosch is the inventor of the technology and they want a measily 86 euro or so, while weird brands I have never heard about want double or even triple that amount. And then there's one that go for as little as 30-40 euro while still matching the OEM number. There's too many choices. 😨 I mean normally a high price = higher quality. But there's little point in getting something crazy expensive. Are there any brand recommendations you can make that typically work well with Skoda?

Thanks for the help 🤩. May I ask what resource you used to find the part numbers so I can use the VIN or Engine code in the future? They took such great care of this car so even the original service book with that weird sticker with all those 3 letter codes and such are intact and in pristine condition. It's amazing really how good paper keeps when cared for and not thrown around haphazardly, considering the vechile was produced over 20 years ago.

I stumbled my way into a fairly well kept Skoda Octavia Generation 1. Gasoline 5 gears, 2003 Sedan. 4 cylinder, 1595 cm3 102 hk/75 kw something something that my country registered it as when Skoda sent their info to them back then, I got this car about a day ago. Finally my quest to find a decently kept car was OVER! This was after a massive undertaking in finding a car for my budget trudging trough heaps of liars and people with the integrity of a rotten boot. I have no ****ing clue why people is like this. When I sold my SAAB I described every little single problem I knew of the car down to a tee. I'd rather write 4 A4 pages describing everything wrong with my car so my conciencse is clear and the buyer is well informed rather than what most people do, lie lie LIE! I'm liking the car so far. But I know it cannot unleash its true joy and run smoothly without some repairs + if the catalysator or engine gets ****ed if I continue driving it I will cry tears of blood. The car is kinda janky in idle for 1-2 minutes flipping like someone bipolar between 500-1500 revs before stabilising at 800-900 from cold, and it's very jittery at first gear when you shift down and touch the acceleration. Otherwise gear 1 behaves fine. It will also occasionally become jittery above 100 km/h, as if the mixture is bad. It be bitching about the MAF and the Lambda/O2. Codes P0101, P0130. Also P0171. I need the OEM numbers/whatever other numbers so I know I'm ordering the right parts for the MAF, The First Lambda Sensor (The one before the catalytic converted, bank 1 sensor 1), and I figure I might as well ask about the one at or after the catalytic converter so I know for the future. I also need the location of the sensor before the catalytic converter. I do not know where to look. Is it near the twin fans at the front of the engine? Somewhere nearer the wall that seperates the engine from where you sit? Do I need to lift the car to find it? Skoda themselves were not particularly helpfull and just referred me to seek a skoda approved workshop and I'm in no mood to spend another 50-100 USD to find out what OEM numbers I need when I already am going to need to spend anywhere from 200-1000 USD to get this car prepared properly and already have the codes. I've aquired all the possible tools I can think of needing to change the lambda/O2 + most lambda/o2 sensors above 80 USD already seem to come with some copper ish gunk grease that apperently is nice to have to make them more tight and easier to screw off later. The only thing that prevents me from attempting more advanced stuff with cars like changing a timing belt for example is that I do not have a safe space (lol) to store the car in the times I do not work on it, other than that I prefer finding everything myself to the greatest extent possible. But here I am because I dunno where to find what I seek. I apologise if this thread is in the wrong forum part. The car is actually running really decently and smoothly for having these code problems, but I read that the catalytic converter can either start burning or the engine can start a fire if you do not fix the lambdas. Either way I promised myself that I was going to treat my next car good. Thanks and have a great night.
