Hi, first time posting here. Recently purchased a 2013 1.6 TDI Octavia and have noticed a whining sound as detailed in the below link. Would anybody be able to suggest what it may be? The sound as recorded from the dashcam is about 3x as loud as what I hear in the driving seat. The sound happens sporadically and only when starting from a standstill- I can go 30 minutes of mixed driving waiting for it with no luck. Strangely enough the conditions in the street on the video consistently produce the noise- I assume this may be starting from a standstill and keeping a lower speed with a slighty prolonged period in 1st gear. Mileage is 67,000 and cambelt/water pump yet to be replaced though they are due to be replaced soon. Hopefully the noise may be related to these and therefore may disappear when they are changed.
