I found out today that the 60000 miles 60 Month change intervals has been updated by the VAG group to a lot more, I think about 100/120 k miles and 10 years.

Surprised that there is not a lot more about this on here. I replaced all my bolts, (4 bolts) with the bolts that are used for the top of a fuel filter on a diesel. I never put them in with lock tight, because if they snap again I would never get the broken part out of the cylinder head.

Not really, the fuel rail bolts loosen off and sometimes snap, no warning just a breakdown. I have seen this twice, not including my own. One we managed to fix by replacing the bolts, the other we had to replace the fuel injector seals and bolts. The way to check would be remove the intake manifold and check or replace the bolts for the fuel rail, not a big job and could save you a real problem in the future.

Lower arm bushes are worn, that happened to me.

Apparently its quite a common fault. I have seen a couple with the same problem.

Now on my second Fabia, first onw was a 2012 1.2 Monte Carlo, really liked that car but it came to grief one day. I did have it repaired, but it was never the same. Eventually sold it and now have a 2016 Mk III 1.2 TSI Colour edition. Owned it for 4 years and done about 35K miles during that time. What a solid little car, really good and touch wood almost 100% reliable. Decided to keep this car for the long haul, with prices on used cars the way they are and the looming situation with electric cars ( Perceived or not ) I am better off with what I know. So if I am going to spend any time or money on cars it will be on this one I have now. Only issue so far was the the fuel rail bolts snapped and the rail came away from the head and sprayed all the fuel out, Lucky it did not take fire. All in all its a good car, like all cars requires looking after, so cant complain.
